They worked for me without any issues
Before I was using Lorex wireless system, they do not have monthly charges like others do. short story about my experience about the Lorex wireless system, 1 doorbell and 3 wireless camera, I have them all hardwired in, so not on battery mode. In my opinion they worked ok, it only recorded only when actionis in the middle of field of view, and cut off shortly after even when action still going on. so I was not able to accurately see what was going on, then one day, all my camera got kicked out my network, I can not get it back up running. So I gave up on them, leaving the doorbell, which the only thing that did not got kicked out. the Google floodlight camera, i installed 3 floodlight with camera, and 1 camera only. installation of floodlight will required some house electrical knowledge, installation process are straight forward, all hardware are included. set up is a breeze also, scan qr code, find product, connect to wifi, basically done. The construction of light and camera is solid, feels heavy, magnet is very strong, I don't think it will moved by wind, rain and snow. Flood light is bright, pictures are clear, night vision on camera only is ok, the ones with floodlight, night recoding would be in color, because the lights are on. it will start recording before and shortly after action enters and leaves the field of view of camera. Example: I got a notification of vehicle is on my camera, in the video actually records even before vehicle approaching to camera's field of view. I like this feature very much. Also audio recording are clear. All recording are cloud base, there is free or paid. Free one only offer 3 hrs of recording then will be erase whatever is before the 3hr time stemp, or you can pay for 30days od recording. The app is straight forward, easy to navigate. Sometimes I experience "video is not available ..." I would just need to wait a little for it to show up. There was a time I need to remove the camera from the wifi network because it's not getting a good connection, I was not able to reconnect, so if that is the case, you will need to reset the camera, there is a button behind it, push in for 15 seconds so it resets, repeat the connection process and I was good. I don't think I see that instructions in the booklet, maybe it's just me over looking things. With the new google app, all my nest thermostat and camera are on the same app that is a plus. The over all experiences on the product itselfe are good, no complaints. I only have to say thr price is set a little high, that is about it. I would recommend if it fits the budget.

Good quality security camera for decent price with easy set up
I already have a Google doorbell and subscription to Google Home through ADT. I wanted to add a flood light and camera to my backyard bathroom door which isn’t covered well by the existing cameras. I should have bought this when it was on sale for prime day, but missed it. My handyman was here for other projects, so I had him do this one as well. He took down the existing light and connected this. He did not complain of any problems and it did not seem to take very long. I then easily connected to the camera by my Google Home app, which took about 5 min to set up and update. (There’s a QR code that comes in the box that you scan to speed up the process.) When I went into my Google home app, it showed a battery icon and showed only 64% battery! After googling, I realized that the switch for the flood light camera always has to be switched on 🤦♀️ I am so used to turning that switch off from when it was a back door light. I will have to put a sticker or post it note so guests do not turn it off. The app allows you to choose the length of time the flood light stays on for after it detects a motion event. It also turns on if you’re looking live through the camera on the app. You can zoom in on the app live (see a photo of a cobblestone I zoomed in on). The quality is pretty good and the colors are bright. In the app, it shows up as both a camera and as a light. When you click on the light option, you can choose an intensity to keep it on as just a light. If you have this on, it will always be on until you turn it off. My goals for having this were to 1) cover a previously uncovered area with surveillance cameras without breaking the bank, and 2) deter coyotes and other large wildlife from coming in the yard since I have stray cats. So far so good 👍

Seamless Setup and Crystal Clear Night Vision!
I was a bit hesitant to purchase these after reading some reviews about connectivity issues with the Google Home app, but I’m glad I went for it. Following some helpful advice from other users, I connected them to my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, and the setup was incredibly fast and smooth—no issues at all. I installed one in the front yard and another facing the garage. Both work flawlessly. The night vision is surprisingly sharp, providing a very clear picture even in total darkness. One of the biggest perks is that the Nest Cam features are included with a Google One subscription. If you are already in the Google ecosystem, these are a no-brainer. Highly recommended for a simple and reliable home security upgrade!

Easily THE WORST PRODUCT OF ANY KIND I HAVE EVER PURCHASED: EMBARRASSINGLY BAD ENGINEERING
I do not write many reviews. When I do, they are exceptional products, almost always very positive. This one is exceptionally and beyond bad. This is my third failed nest camera. This one lasted only a few months before failing. (outdoor, cool, dry location.) My first nest camera was designed to mount like a real camera. Unfortunately, it failed after a few months. This new camera is bad engineering in every regard. It has a silly magnetic mount. The cable does not go through the mount so it just dangles under the camera where the slight breath of wind will unplug it. The connector is not captive, so any slight touch of the cable will cause the cable to fall out. (I put electrical tape over the connector to keep it plugged in.) Anybody can walk by and easily grab the camera. The browser based Interface is now gone. You can only use their app that works poorly. It will only stay on the video screen for a few minutes before it shuts off. So no way to watch for an event. You have to go in, and restart it. Unfortunately, nest hates, Google and Google hates nest. The camera does not work with the Google app. nest will not allow my corporate Google Gmail account, so I had to set up an entirely new Gmail account just for nest products.. This camera came only with a battery that I did not want or need. It is what seems to be going dead despite being plugged in for months. (Throws a "dead battery" continuously even after being plugged in for one month.) I filed a warranty claim with Google and they gave me a runaround for two months. I was just on the phone for an hour with somebody from India who was a nice person, however, knew nothing about how a camera works certainly nothing about the nest camera. They read a script. For one hour, I did exactly what I've done five times before. It works or a day or a week and then fails again. I said, "You're giving me a runaround" And this person said " Yes I am" They then said you have to contact us in the future when it goes out again, but do it before your warranty expires in two months. They refused to send me a replacement camera until it failed for a fourth or fifth time. Finally, this person said that the voltage might be wrong. I said that I am using the USB power adapter and cable that was sold to me by Google.. I asked whether they were asking the voltage into the wall wart or out of it? The person again said the voltage. I asked if it was the power into the wall wart. They said yes. I got out my Fluke meter, one of the finest meters in the world. I checked the AC voltage. It was 118.4 VAC, 60 Hz.. This person said that the specification says it must be more than 124 Volts. I find this unbelievable. What is Google thinking? What is nest thinking? How could they possibly sell a product like this? I am just lucky I didn't fall on my backside when I was climbing up to pull the camera down again and up again and down again and up again, according to the repeated instructions. Again, I had done this a half a dozen times before spending more than one hour on this Support call.. This is an awful, dreadful product. I would certainly never recommend that anybody buy this product. NEGATIVE 10 stars!!! UPDATE ONE DAY LATER: After having spent more than one hour on the phone with Google support yesterday, I was told that I would have to wait a week or two. Only if it failed again, would they then allow me to spend another hour on the phone talking with them again, unless my warranty expired before then. It did work for about 12 hours, but FAILED this morning. Same problem. Last night, the battery was 100% with the camera plugged in, this morning, it said 0% full. But with a dead battery, the entire camera is dead. So I have no video at all. The camera is dead. One would think that with a dead battery and the unit plugged in constantly, the camera would still work. But what do I know? Google engineers clearly know more than I do. Why can Google not admit that this is a totally junk product? How can they run their customers around, knowing that this is a junk product? Two failed Google cameras, both of which I paid full price for. And both of which are junk. Yesterday, I was told that my warranty would expire in a month or two. That would be after it failed again. Well, I didn't have to wait that long because it failed in TWELVE (12) hours. NEGATIVE 50 stars!

Enjoy the camera but not a fan of the required montly plans to get fmore features.
Camera works great and was easy to install wiith the provided kit. Item is durable and replaced my legacy wired spotlight. Picture quality and sound is very good. My issue is you need to read about the required mandatory subscription plans. LIve streaming is free, and three hours of event snapshots are free. After this you have to sign up for a monthly subscription. For the price I would expect a little more.

Connectivity issues
I've been using Google devices for 5 years now. And for the most part they've been great that's why I'm still using them. With the exception of the door lock and the bad idea of the house alarm they had. But the cameras lately have been great and this one I first installed it I was really impressed. I've only had it for 3 weeks and in that 3 week time span it has messed up on me twice now. It's saying it cannot connect to the internet which is BS because we have the absolute best internet that you can buy. I'm a very busy guy and hate to have to keep on taking time out of my busy schedule to go out here factory reset it and get it all set up back on the internet just for it to work for 3 days and for it to disengage from the Wi-Fi. Not saying it's a bad product just be weary of it especially if it is far away from your internet router or if you live somewhere where it rains frequently because I don't think it's his water resistant as they say it is.

Can't Put a Price on Peace of Mind!
I’ve been using the Google Nest Cam for a while now, and I couldn’t be happier with it! The video quality is crystal clear during the day and surprisingly sharp at night with the night vision feature. I love the peace of mind it gives me, whether I’m at home or away, I can easily check in through the Google Home app and get alerts if any motion is detected. I like the design of the camera and the way it mounts on the wall. The setup was quick and simple, and it integrates seamlessly with my other Google devices. I especially appreciate the smart alerts that distinguish between people, animals, and vehicles. It really cuts down on unnecessary notifications. The two-way audio is also a great touch, letting me communicate in real time. Highly recommend the Nest Cam for anyone looking to upgrade their home safety system! I have 2 Nest cams that I have had for the past 2 years. They are still functioning perfectly without any issues, so I would consider them durable. I live on a tropical island, so the days are either hot (90 degrees and above on average) or rainy. My cameras are still working great and they are exposed directly to the sun. I recently connected a solar charger that I purchased on Amazon and it's been great. If you are worried about the battery life, I would get the solar charger. If you set up zones on your app, it will help with battery life. Currently, I now have 4 nest cams. If you don't like paying a subscription fee, you may want to look for another device. The price per month was $8 but recently the fee changed to $10 for all cameras. It's a flat rate, which is in my price range and what I deem as "fair." Other cheaper cameras I purchased cost $4.99 per device per month, so the Google flat rate of $10 is reasonable for me.

Liked this camer better than the WYZE Wireless Outdoor/Indoor because of the Google Home App
Tried the Google Nest Cam Outdoor or Indoor, Battery - 2nd Generation and the WYZE Wireless Outdoor/Indoor Battery Security Camera. Both cameras had equal performance, however, I returned the Wyze because I liked the Google Home App better than the Wyze App. The Wyze camera was supposed to be compatible with the Google Home app but it did not work, and many people have had the same issue.
