Not an 'Everyday Shoe.'
After being interested in these for several years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair. Here are my thoughts. I wear a 10.5, so I took the advice and got a half-size smaller. Length matched, but the width was a bit narrow. Not enough to send back and they stretch out fairly soon. This is a good thing because with only 2 eyelets a side, a snug fit is probably not possible. Again, this is a good thing because the heritage of this shoe is casual wear, not strenuous work. They are not 'cushiony' and I feel a little bit of the seam between the heel and front-foot on the right side when I first start walking in them, even after breaking them in. I also notice the cup of the heel on both shoes for the first few minutes of walking. Both soon go away. I saw several mentions of water leaving stains when they get wet. I noted this and, even though I had no intention of wearing these in the rain, I've avoided water whenever possible. I did however get a couple of drops on them and, sure enough, you can see them a few weeks later. Don't wear them when the weather threatens rain. I got these to get a less boyish look when I wear shorts in warm/hot weather when I'm out running light errands. I'm pleased with the results. These are quality shoes that I will be able to wear for years. The expense suggest an everyday wear shoe, and I get that, but these are not that type of shoe. But under the right conditions, you can, and will, get a lot of wear out of them.

Classic style - getting lots of compliments
My husband loves wearing these - comfortable and perfect fit. He got so many compliments from other guys asking where he got them. Recommend treating them suede waterproofing spray with the light color - dirt brushes right off.

So so quality
Poor quality, the sole is already coming undone.

I think I found my new favorite pair of shoes
For someone used to wearing nothing, but Nikes, Jordans, etc, for the longest time, I knew it was time for a change. After buying my first pair of Sperry boat shoes and now these, I think I'll be keeping my sneakers on ice for a bit. These shoes in particular looks to be very well made. Its simple yet classic silhouette is what originally won me over. They are very comfortable, not quite boat shoe comfortable, but very very comfortable and light. I've owned suede shoes before, so I know I'll need to spray these with a protectant. They do run a tad bit big, but I only had to size down a half size.

for flat foot people
It sucks, got it as a gift from my wife and don't like it, only for flat footed people I guess, if you bend your foot it hurts also you need large socks or it cuts your uncles, not to happy it's going back also over priced

Solid good
I got these after seeing this boot showing up in a lot of boot reviews. I really like them. They seem to run a little big.

There is no doubt they are my favorite shoe and wear well
I have been wearing Clark Desert Boots since I was 15(I'm now 74). There is no doubt they are my favorite shoe and wear well.

These feel just a little loose on my feet, but no insert I've tried proves as comfortable as the natural shoe, so I'll stick with it. The crepe sole is both a strong point (nice and soft underfoot) and a weakness since it is flexible enough that I can feel pebbles. The suede prefers to stay dry (which is understandable for something called a desert boot), so use preservative if you live in a climate where rain occasionally falls. The sole also blackens from dirt but if you live near a beach, go for a walk in the sand; the abrasion will help clean the shoe's bottom. All in all, I really enjoy these boots, even if they're not five star in the above rating
