I love this book! This is perfect as an introduction in art history for kids. As the other reviews say this is not your typical Dr. Seuss book, which I personally don't care about. The content is factual but not boring and my 7-year-old is absolutely obsessed with the book and its cute drawings. If you want to teach your kids about art this is a good start. I'm so pleased, this book was exactly what I wished for.

This book is definitely not the normal rhyming Dr. Seuss book but that some might expect. I think that is where some of the other reviewers were disappointed. It is, however, an excellent book for teaching children about art history. The illustrations are adorable and the book is well thought out. Dr. Seuss is no longer with us and I think people want this to be a book like Dr. Seuss would have written. I believe that, very smartly, the people putting it together did not try to be Dr. Seuss in that way. People would have complained had they not gotten the rhyming the way Dr. Seuss would have done it so best not to go there. The information is excellent and teaches children about how we all may see things (like horses) in different ways (throughout time and around the world). I like that it validates different styles of art and that not all art has to be realistic or photographic to be good art. Art styles are presented and illustrated with famous artworks and explained in a simple and wonderfully understandable way. I think it is an excellent book for children to learn about art and art styles. If you are just looking for a rhyming book, this is not it. If you want your children to learn as well as be entertained by a book, than this is a great book.

Looks like another Dr. Seuss rhyming winner. I have many Dr. Seuss books, but did not know about this one. Glad I have it. The test will be when I read it to my Kindergarten class in September. It will take me some time to get through the entire book.
