Perfect size, let me explain…I purchased this 50qt strainer for my 40qt pot and it fits great. The 40qt strainer was just too small as far as surface area inside the pot. This strainer is well made and good quality. My low country boils will quick and easy!!

Turkey did not stick and turned out great

I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 because of the handle configuration. I bought this to go into a 12 qt pot for my induction stove. It would have been better if the handle configuration was on the inside of the basket instead of on the outside. I had to remove the handle and make some modifications to get it to fit into my pot. Then I had to add the handle back in.

I placed this insert into a large heavy stock pot. Finally I can deep-fry things (chicken wings, salmon croquettes, French fries, breaded flounder, etc.) without that awful greasy residue ending up everywhere. The pot is about 10" high and 12" in diameter, and this insert is a perfect fit inside it. The oil I fry in is about 2-3 inches deep, and I don't even have to use a splatter screen because the droplets that would have been aerosolized end up on the sides of the tall pot (and insert) and fall back down into the oil. Now I don't have to relegate all of my deep-fried shenanigans to the outdoors. I just leave this indoor "fry-daddy" by my stove, with the glass lid on, and whip it out whenever I need it! I hate I didn't discover this before!

The basket was wrapped inside a plastic bag and then placed into a cardboard box that snugly holds the basket. There were no dents or damage to my basket despite not having any additional padding. It arrived on time within their stated window. This was the best price I found on Amazon for a steamer basket this size. I already have a 100 quart pot which came with a basket, but I wanted another basket. One to hold the veggies and one to hold the crawfish. The measurements stated in the description are spot on and the product is as described. This new basket measured just a tad smaller than my original so it fits just fine into my 100 qt pot. The handle appears solidly attached to the basket and I don't foresee any problems with it when I actually use it the next time I boil a sack of crawfish. Overall I'm very happy with this basket. It's exactly what I was looking for and the price was just right. I found other similar steamer baskets that were over $100. Attached is a picture of this new basket in the front with my older basket behind it. This new basket actually looks bigger because of the way the picture was taken, but it is actually just a little smaller than the original basket behind it which came with the 100 qt pot to the left.

Perfect fit for my pot

This strainer fit almost perfect in my Boil pan. It sure makes getting the boil out easier. Also great for just cooking the shrimp & clams when someone wants it so not to over cook. I thought it was of fine quality and cleaned up well after using. Sure made our Boil much easier to get out what we wanted each time a new person stopped by. This way the food is hot until needed. The only bad thing is that it is about an inch too high so could not close the lid all the way down.
