720P USB Dome Camera with IR Cut Night Vision

An absolutely bulletproof camera. Construction is definitely heavy duty. Case is metal and clearly rugged. Lens is big enough to draw in lots of light for excellent night vision. Was truly plug and play for easy setup. Plugged it in to Windows 11 PC for instant connectivity. Functionally it's everything I had hoped. Pointing/aiming is easy thanks to generous range of lens swivel. Mounting on the wall is easy thanks to built-in mounting holes. Built-in 15-foot cable is very sturdy and long enough to reach my PC. The fact that it is hard wired removes any headache associated with WiFi connections or signal interference. 720p resolution is excellent. You can find cheaper cameras, but the quality of this one and its great performance (especially in low light) make this one a great value.

This security camera was exactly what I expected at. it's a little bigger then I thought but that might be a good thing to someone but for me i like them a little smaller and preferably small enough to hide but this type of camera isn't made for that. But it is made like tank which is great thing which is because it's strong, steady and very durable and made quite well especially if you want to put it up outside somewhere. It does have a really big viewer lens and covers a lot of the area and is excellent in low light areas and especially at night. It was pretty straightforward when putting it up and setting it up and the fact that it's plug and play just makes it a whole lot easier as well. It has a lengthy cord so you can set it up pretty much anywhere and because it's wired you don't have to worry about no broken signals and stuff like that. If your the average John or Jane and this is your first time getting one then this is pretty much for you. The price is a little higher then I like but your paying for quality and functionality and ease of setting up and using it so you get what you pay for. This security camera is a product I can and do recommend for use at home or place of business.

We needed an inside camera. The connection was kind of aggravating. After awhile it connected. It gets a wide range of the area. It works well. Great purchase.

I got this camera to use as a remote webcam for a project I'm working on. It does work. The infrared lights come on automatically in low light and the low light images are pretty good. The images in bright light are not especially good or bad, just average. I really appreciate the very long USB cable - it makes it easy to position a remote camera. It comes with very brief instructions that are printed incredibly small and do not describe how to flip the camera so images are not upside down when the camera sits on a surface instead of being mounted on the ceiling. I do not like the ergonomics. This thing is designed to be mounted to the ceiling, not set on a surface. How do I know? Because out of the box, the images are all inverted when you set it on a table. Now this wouldn't be an issue except they've made it very difficult to flip the camera over. The camera can be flipped, but there are no instructions on how to do so in the box. Flipping the camera requires two people or a vise with soft jaw inserts. To flip it you must control four things at once, and I only have two hands! To flip the image you must loosen the base ring from the mounting base, and that's easy. Then you must flip the camera, and turn the camera mount, and re-tighten the base ring onto the mounting base. But when you tighten the mounting base, the camera mount wants to turn with it, so you must hold the camera still relative to its mount, hold the mount to keep it from turning, then turn the base ring, all while holding the mounting base. I suppose it's easy if you have four hands. I really wish they had a switch on the camera that flipped the image - that would make it so much easier. So I will give this camera three stars because while it does work and has a nice long cord, the image quality is just average, the instructions are pathetic, and it is incredibly difficult to get the images flipped to the correct orientation. Cons: * Only average bright light image quality * Instructions are tiny and lacking crucial instructions like how to flip the image orientation * Very difficult to flip the camera in its mounting to flip image orientation

This camera was a learning experience for me. I've spent two days playing with it, learned a lot, but I have a lot more to learn. BEWARE! Do NOT buy this if you are looking for something easy to setup in a few minutes. There are plenty of cameras out there that connect to your WiFi wirelessly that are bundled with an app tailor-made to operate their own brand of cameras. This ELP camera is NOT one of them. You are buying ONLY the camera itself; software to run the camera is not included with the sale. Pros: I searched the Internet and everything I read about ELP cameras was good. I found YouTube videos on some ELP cameras that were 5 and 6 years-old. The camera connected to my computer via USB and Windows 10, and all drivers were installed Plug and Play with no problem. I was able to connect the camera to the Windows 10 Camera App with no problem to test it out. Cons: The camera is advertised as Connectivity WIRED/WIRELESS but it is NOT wireless. The camera connects to a computer via standard USB, and it has a long cord that will allow you to run it outside your home or into another room. It will not connect to WiFi. The manual is WORTHLESS! It provides a link to the ELP website where you can download a test app. With the test app I was able to view myself onscreen, record video, photos, and download them to my hard drive. That was all I could do with the app. I could not use the pan, tilt or zoom in and out features of the camera. I searched the Internet for video surveillance software to operate the camera and found a web site that listed their top 20 choices. I downloaded the first top three and didn't have much luck getting them to work. Some of the programs had free trial periods, but none of them were free. Last of all there are NO mounting instructions in the manual. Oddly enough the mounting instructions are shown in a photo in the listing. I have uploaded those instructions with this review. Conclusion: I really have enjoyed playing with this camera and will eventually find surveillance software to run it. In the meantime I am going to use it as a web cam; I have strapped it to the base of my monitor with Velcro strips. This camera is a big improvement over the webcam that is built into my HP Zbook workstation. WARNING! Buy this camera if you are techy and a bit of a geek. If you're not, you better look elsewhere.
