Secure on-ramp
I am a big fan of BSD firewalls let alone OPNSENSE or PFSENSE. Either one will do more to protect your network from the outside world and buying a Netgate wall gets me a pre-installed machine practically turn key. I just plug it in, point my browser to it's address run a wizard and walaa. Gated.Update: Just over a year and it locked up, no GUI, no internet, the internal "drive on chip" (da0) listed as corrupt from the shell. Netgate sent me a link to an update that wouldn't run once installed and rebooted, instead purchased a msata ssd, installed it and downloaded OPNsense, now it runs OPNsense and all seems well. Advice is to purchase only if you know a little about a little.
