This is a pretty cool little unit
This is pretty easy to work with. The instructions are very simple and the option of being able to not only do rounds, but to have it to stop to do "flat panels" is a major plus. You have to work with it to get used to how it operates and discover the speed for the yarn, so you don't drop any stiches. It does a nice job, all the stiches are even and with the flip of the little switch on the side, you can do the flat (square) panels. That will take a touch of practice and learning the individual machines speed for the type of yarn you will be using. I have both the King size and this one, of which they both operate the exact same. I highly recommend this for your projects, but I also want to stress, you must practice with it and get the feel of how it operates, before you make any final projects. As with everything, you must experiment with it before you have exactly what you hope to accomplish with it. The small one is large enough to do scarves or baby caps and small flat panels, but if you want to use this, straight from the knitter, for an adult size knitted hat, it won't fit an adult head with this diameter. What you can do is, run the lengths through for an adult head and then put them side by side to crochet or knit together. The King size Addi, this will most definitely fit an adult head and still give you some flexibility with your cap. It is also fabulous for making sleeves to sweaters, if you want to do sweaters, with the sleeves fitting the arms with a loose or roomy fit. This small unit will do very well for socks, baby clothes (sleeves) or multi-tube scarves. These units are not cheap made and the quality of the design is well thought out. But, once again, before you make a final judgement on how it works, play with it for a bit to see what the individual unit does and determine the speed to turn the handle, as the thickness of your yarn will make all the difference on the speed of turning it. It does take patience to get the hang of it, but once you do, you will use it all the time. I also use the flat bed knitters, that you mount to a table and slide back and forth, so I'm experienced in what works and doesn't with these kinds of knitting units. Patience is the key to make it work exactly the way you want it too. Thanks.

It’s little, but it’s not a toy
Has all the fine qualities of bigger Addi circular knitting machines and is so cute! I use it to make golf club head covers for my grandson and others. In school colors. In golf club colors for friends who are members. In fun colors and textures because - why not? This little gem does it all.

Perfect for small projects and I-cords
The Addi Egg is a handy little tool! It’s great for making i-cords, quick repairs, or adding small details to larger projects. It’s compact, easy to use, and works best with lightweight yarns. There’s a bit of a learning curve with tension, but once you get the hang of it, it cranks smoothly. Perfect for crafters who like quick, satisfying projects or need a reliable i-cord maker.

Worth the money
Very compact size. I can knit so much faster now with little to no dropped stitches. Beautiful design, easy to use and the instructions were amazingly written.

Shipping takes FOREVER!
It took over three weeks for my item to even be shipped ! The order SAT for THREE WEEKS. After talking with computer generated representatives…I concluded that there was a shortage in the product, no available shippers, and according to the retailer…they didn’t have any available drivers to get the order shipped. These were all AI generated responses to my question:”Why does it take three weeks to prepare an order for shipping?.” Won’t be ordering from this company again, because Amazon says it’s not their problem. I’ve been asked to edit this review 2/20/26….Not sure what else to say. I like the knitting machine. It’s small. It works. It’s made of good quality plastic. I bought it to make infant hats. It’s too small. I will keep it for other projects though and order the bigger machine by the same manufacturer. Was pleased with the product but unhappy with the seller and the way Amazon said my shipping issue was not their problem

Returned the first machine, but second one is great
The first machine I received gave me a lot of trouble, always on the same needle, so I returned it. I used the replacement machine tonight and it was totally different; working really well. It's definitely more sensitive than the "king size" but it's still very easy to use and does the job. I'm excited about all the projects I can do with it now that it's actually working. So, if you get a machine that's giving you a lot of trouble, you may want to consider returning it and getting a new one. Now, I love both my Addi machines.

Awesome little tool!
This is my second knitting machine, but my first Addi brand knitting machine. The first one was just a Hobby Lobby cheap one made of cheap flimsy plastic a little bigger than this one. I bought this for my husband as his old knitting machine (the cheapo one) wore out and dropped stitches more and more as time went by and started making this horrid screeching noise. He tells me that this one is amazing. The build quality is fantastic. The first knitting machine we had felt cheap, flimsy, hollow, and easy to break. This machine is sturdy, the plastic doesn't feel like a thin cheap hollow milk jug like the previous one. A few more pros are that it comes with a stitch counter. Not sure exactly how it works but it seems as if the first hook that goes around has some sort of magnet that, when it passes the stitch counter, goes up a digit on the display. This makes stripes and keeping track of lines and patterns extremely easy. Another positive is that the hooks are replaceable, on a lot of knitting machines the hooks are built-in and if they break you're screwed, its a constant worry with other machines. But the hooks on this one are very thick and feel strong, and even if they wear out over time replacement hooks here on Amazon are very cheap for a pack of multiple hooks. All in all this thing is a wonderful piece of equipment if you're looking for a knitting machine!
