Yes, this can cut galvanized steel. One thing to be careful of is the gases release by the zinc is *really* bad for you, so make sure you have GOOD ventilation and a mask so you are not breathing in the fumes.

It will cut like a knife through butter.

I need to cut a 1" case hardened steel shaft - hardness C60 to .08" depth. Will this blade work?

It will cut your shaft but you may burn threw one or two disks to do it. a chop saw with a 12" to 14 " blade would be better if you are cutting a lot of hard shafts.

Can i use these on my oerter cable drill? if so what sized arbor do i need?

The disc itself is 7/8" arbor. I think you meant to write 'Porter Cable', either way I don't think a drill has enough rpm's and you won't have the protection of a grinder shield. You don't want to get hurt, keep it safe and good luck.
