Kreg PRS4038 Precision Router Table Insert Plate - Undrilled

I recently built my own router table and wanted to purchase a plate insert instead of building one to ensure that it was perfect and true. The building instruction photos showed a kreg router plate insert so I decided to purchase the same one. Im a fan of kreg products already and love the quality of their tools so i went with this one here and it was a great decision. The back side of the plate has centering marks on it making the drilling of the plate super simple. I used my ryobi R1631 router for this plate and it only took a few minutes to drill the plate and attach the router to it. I HIGHLY recommend the kreg router plate levelers when installing this in a table. It made leveling the plate super easy! A top notch kreg product that seems like it will last forever!

It’s a good router plate, nothing groundbreaking but it’s made well and had held up to larger routers without any sagging.

I used the plate with no predrilled holes as none of them fit the hole pattern on my router. The back of the plate had concentric circular lines that help greatly with centering and aligning your router. The directions provided by Kreg were very good as well. They contain several tips that make hole drilling easier and accurate.

Product was flat and install was straight forward. Non pre drilled unit work for me. A centering bit made it easy to line up. A piece of dowel with several wraps of tape works if you don’t have a centering bit.

Price is right - works very well with my craftsmen router get the PRS3040 inserts from Kreg for leveling - I found screwing the mounting bolt in first then pre drilling the attaching screw holes worked best for me - this ensured the holes lined up perfectly

I had to trim the edges to fit my old cast-iron table (expected - that's why I bought this one: it starts out bigger than the existing 9x11) and I'm guessing that the mismatch between the edges and the table are because the _table_ is warped! I found it odd that the starting pin needed to be assembled! Screw in the screw, and it is just about the same size and would fit in the packaging just as well...(but that is a trivial gripe!) I did have to fill in the mounting screw holes since this wasn't the _true_ right size for my table - maybe Kreg could off a similar part but with no holes in the corners for the very small number of us who could use that...

I bought this so I could use my DeWalt palm router in "table mode". All of the information available indicated that my router would work with the insert plate. However, the screws of the router are exactly inside the circular cutout of the plate, so I have nothing to attach the router. I've done some reading, and see others who have "adapted" for this, using extra materials. I will try this, but it's not looking like an easy install.

Sehr Stabil, man sollte gute Bohrer nehmen, dann klappt es prima. Habe extra die ungebohrte Version genommen für meine Triton JOF001, um sie mir passend zu bohren. Auf dem Bild passe ich gerade den Halterahmen vorne an, beidseitig Höhenverstellbar, da ich den Frästisch variabel an dem Klapptisch per Klemmbolzen Ø 20 mm im 10 cm Raster befestige. Eins noch zu den Schrauben, die dabei waren, länge hat gepasst, nur ist das ein Zollmaß (ca. 6,5mm) habe ich mir kurzerhand auf 6mm geschnitten, geht fürs erste, werde aber passende besorgen, stehe mit Kreuzschlitz auf Kriesfuß ;-) , vier passende Muttern wären toll gewesen, bei dem Preis hätten die allerdings dabei sein müssen (zur Befestigung der Triton hatte ich mir bereits einen passenden Satz in Zollgröße von Sauter mitbestellt). Ansonsten zu empfehlen, für mich passt die Platte, bin zufrieden. Auch schön das unterschiedlichen Einlegeringe für unterschiedliche Fräsergrößen dabei sind, vielleicht zwei mehr, damit man besser differenzieren könnte. Die Platte könnte man insgesamt etwas günstiger anbieten, deshalb einen Stern abzug.

Perfect for the router table I'm building, it's not cheap but it is good value for money. Very quick delivery as well.

This is a good quality plate that will hopefully last many years. Money well spent.
