Apple Magic Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, & 5th Gen - Black (Renewed)

I recently purchased a refurb 2021 12.9 iPad Pro here on Amazon and wanted the Magic Keyboard to go with it as it is absolutely the best accessory for the tablet other than the Apple Pencil. The seller I purchased from is A4C and the item was described as “Excellent”. Mine was packaged in the OEM Apple box but had 2 round sticker seals vs the shrink warp if you bought it new. There was a very slight dent in the lower right corner of the box and I’m wondering if this is how a perfectly new item turns into a refurb. Apple is very stringent with how their items are packaged and displayed and may allow 3rd party resellers to refurb them if the item still looks and works like new when they open it up to inspect for damage. I’m just speculating here but I think I might not be that far off. The keyboard had clearly been examined by the seller who left their warranty card inside the box before resealing it. The item was not placed back in the plastic sleeve that it usually gets packed in from the factory while it sits inside the box. But the owner’s manual was still included along with the “spacer” box that is the same thickness of the ipad to keep the keyboard packaged tightly inside the box. I examined the entire keyboard with a fine tooth comb under bright light and there was zero evidence that anyone had used it at all. There were no scuff marks, rips, tears, scratches, lint on any of the surfaces or inside the keyboard. The keys all look pristine. Keyboards have a tendency to get a “sheen” on them as they wear from use and all the keys looked dull as they should fresh from the factory. My iPad Pro connected perfectly to the keyboard vis the built in magnets and all the keys lit up and worked. In fact, I’m typing this very review with this Magic Keyboard. I was lucky enough to snag mine at almost 50% off from the $349 MSRP. Pricing will fluctuate based on vendor and demand. But i would jump on these refurbished units when they are in stock as it is downright ludicrous to pay what Apple sells them for at full price. And you have 90 days to return it if you are not truly satisfied with your purchase so you have nothing to lose.

I LOVE THIS MAGIC KEYBOARD! In contrast, I have owned 2 unsatisfactory Similar Products before i purchased this . They were extremely disappointing. For instance, they didn't have the “through charging feature.” And the more recently purchased keyboard didn't come with the charging cable. Though the seller promised to send it several times, they came up with a new excuse about why they hadn't sent it yet, every time i contacted them about this.. . I had repeatedly complained that The magnets were too weak to hold my iPad Pro 6th generation onto the back securely. another detail i disliked, which i didnt complain about was that the track pads were weird. The action was UNUSUALLY stiff. I only mention this now, because i want to comment that in comparison, the trackpad action on this Magic Keyboard is excellent. Having had the other folio keyboards, i can attest that they cannot compare to the Apple product. I contacted the manufacturer of the other folios REPEATEDLY, seeking support for the insecure magnetic placement and other issues . Although the service rep asked questions which seemed irrelevant, they never provided any advice and/ or any solution. Eventually, the folio broke when it released the ipad; which then hit the floor. It was the last straw My brand new iPad Air pro was nearly smashed , when it hit a hard floor because the inadequate magnet on that folio keyboard spontaneously released the iPad from the folio , which i had purchased to protect it.. the ipad smashed to the floor. When the magnet gave way, I let go of the folio in a failed attempt to catch the released device before it hit the floor. The folio dropped and broke. The ipad landed face down, and doesn't seem to have been damaged, though if i hadn't attempted to catch it, it would have landed on a corner, cracking the screen. The folio lost keys, which could not be reattached. I returned this disappointing item nd ordered a Magic Keyboard at the “Open Box“ price. This is an NEW item, not refurbished. Though I had expected to receive the Magic Keyboard for an iPad Pro 12.9” 6th generation. Instead, i received one for 5th gen. It works perfectly. It is new. But not specifically for gen 6. i also love the light weight, and the fact that this keyboard seems to hold my Apple Penci in place a bit better than the other folios i had previously. They didn't keep it in place at all. I highly recommend this Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad! . It is the best! It fits perfectly, everything works, the magnet, through charging feature and easy function make it convenient and comfortable to use, and no worries about the device falling off without warning. The one improvement I‘d wish for, is an attached sleeve to hold the pencil more securely for easy transport and access.

It’s not new but you could’ve fooled me. Other than the box not being sealed, it looks 100% new. No marks or signs it was used. Considering I got the white one, it’s hard to clean up and find previous used marks so I was surprised there wasn’t any signs of use. Only thing I found was that there was a small streak around the keyboards’ usbc port were someone plugged it in there and didn’t go straight in but other then that, nothing else. Looked all over including the felt material that the back of the iPad rest and it still looks perfect. Feels wonderful and great product. Considering how much this cost new and virtual no changes between keyboard generations, Idk why anyone would buy this new. Worth every penny for the refurbished one. Only grip is that it greatly increases the weight of the entire set up. The keyboard actually weighs more than then iPad Pro 12.9. It has to be or it will easily tip over due to the weight of the iPad. So it would be more then twice the weight although so keep that in mind when getting it. I have and use iPad Pro 12.9 fifth gen with M1 chip if anyone wanted to know.

So glad I didn't buy new. The keyboard I got was basically brand new. No marks on it whatsoever. The only indication of it every being used was the cologne smell on it, lol. Very happy with the purchase, saved $200! Great keyboard feel, and the trackpad is excellent, on par with a macbook pro. The thing can be a little top-heavy and I'm still figuring out the best way to unfold the thing, but overall very pleased. At $270 its great value.

Me sorprendió que, aunque fuera un producto reacondicionado, parece que fuera completamente nuevo. El teclado tiene una sensación super cómoda. Aunque está en inglés y no tiene caractéres especiales como ñ, acentos o diéresis, puedes añadirlos sosteniendo (por ejemplo) la n y te da la opción para ñ, como lo que haría con los acentos en el teclado del celular; incluso creo que tiene más opciones que otros teclados en español. Por otro lado, de todas formas el autocorrector es muy intuitivo, así que muchas veces solo escribo y dejo que entre en acción. Antes tenía un teclado Logi con controles adicionales (play/pause, volumen, adelantar, pantalla, etc.) bastante cómodos, así que en un principio tenía dudas porque este no los trae, PERO… realmente no me han hecho falta. Puedes dar play/pause con la barra espaciadora, adelantar/retroceder con las flechas, no trae el control para el brillo de pantalla… de todas formas no le movía tanto y lo puedo hacer desde los accesos rápidos, el único que extraño es el de volumen, aunque tal vez se pueda configurar (no lo sé). Ahora, si me dan a elegir entre los controles adicionales y la sensación de escritura del teclado, me quedo con la sensación de éste teclado. He trabajado con otros teclados de diferentes marcas y este me gusta tanto que ya no quiero trabajar con otros jajaja. Lo hemos probado con iPad Pro 12.9” de 3ª y 6ª generación, y con ambas funciona muy bien. En cuanto al color… había leído que el blanco se ensucia casi con nada, pero por la diferencia de precio con el negro, me animé por el blanco. Tengo casi 2 meses trabajando con él (rudo) y sigue como nuevo. Lo que sí es que siempre limpio mi base de trabajo y me lavo las manos antes de empezar, así que si eres de los que trabajan donde no hay acceso fácil para hacerlo, tal vez te convenga elegir el negro. Le han caído gotas de café, pero limpiando luego luego con paño húmedo se la ha quitado por completo sin dejar manchas. En cuanto a la protección para el iPad, pues no cubre las orillas aunque tiene como 1mm de extensión (no suficiente para mi gusto), pero le compré un protector compatible y lo solucioné. Pesa más? Pues sí, pero eso de poder usarla como iPad en 0.5 segundos está genial. También me gusta mucho poder cargar el iPad desde el teclado, o tener el acceso por ambos lados porque no siempre se puede alargar el cable hasta donde lo quieres, verdad? (Como cuando una trabaja en la cama jajaja). Obviamente, también me encantó que su precio fuera la mitad. Si eres de los que tiene dudas por ser reacondicionado, te puedo decir que desde el principio ha tenido un uso ultra rudo (entre 8 y 14 horas al día, 7 días a la semana (Estoy haciendo posgrado, no me juzguen jejeje)), y sigue funcionando perfecto. También había leído algo negativo relacionado con la duración de la batería: yo no noto diferencia alguna. La única vez que me fijé, con la pila al 100%, me dió 10 horas de uso casi continuo antes de llegar al 5%, que es básicamente el mismo tiempo de uso con mi teclado anterior. También la he dejado puesta en stand by (cerrada) durante 24 horas y sólo bajó 1% la batería. Muy bueno, si me preguntan a mí. Aunque no puede variarse la intensidad del teclado retroiluminado, puedo decir que tiene un tono muy agradable y una intensidad suficiententemente buena para ver las teclas en la oscuridad, pero suficientemente suave para no ser molesta; además, se apaga después de unos segundos de no usarlo y se enciende si tocas el trackpad, alguna tecla o la pantalla, lo que me parece muy conveniente si estás viendo pelis, por ejemplo, porque no estorba la luz. También me gusta mucho el diseño flotante tan firme que tiene. Con otros diseños, los soportes perdieron firmeza después de un tiempo y tuve que acabar comprando un soporte adicional. Este no se ve que vaya a perder firmeza en muuuuucho tiempo. No se le pueda dar la vuelta, pero no me hace falta realmente: si saco el iPad, cierro el teclado y trabajo sobre el teclado cerrado, me da una inclinación suficiente para poder trabajar cómodamente. Y lo cómodo que es escribir en él… Amo la sensación de las teclas! Creo que no hay uno que se le compare en ese sentido. Si eres alguien que escribe tanto como yo, seguro que lo entiendes. Si no, es algo así como cambiar de máquina de escribir mecánica a teclado de computadora. Lo compraría otra vez? Espero que no “tenga que” hacerlo pronto, pero definitivamente sí.

Desde hace mucho tiempo deseaba comprar este teclado para sacarle mucho más provecho a mi iPad, pero tenía miedo de pedir uno refabricado a pesar de que mi experiencia con estos ha sido muy buena. Después de pensarlo mucho me animé a pedirlo y no me arrepiento nada. Si la caja no llegara abierta podría jurar que es nuevo. Llegó en perfectas condiciones y es una gozada trabajar con el. Usar el magic keyboard con el iPad hace que se vuelva una experiencia más completa y mejora la productividad en un 100%. Las teclas se sienten como las de una laptop de gama alta. Los ángulos de visión que te permite el producto son más que suficientes. La retroiluminación de las teclas es muy útil y funciona de forma muy natural dependiendo de las condiciones de luz en las que te encuentres. El trackpad parece pequeño a primera vista pero una vez que comienzas a utilizarlo te das cuenta de que es perfecto, funciona con todos los gestos del de una macbook y te acostumbras super rápido a aprovecharlos. En resumen es un gran producto, si lo compras estoy segura de que te va a encantar sin importar el color que elijas.

I was very pleased with my purchase. There was a slight scuff on the back surface but other than that it looked pretty much brand new! Works great; very happy with it!
