Zaps those little flying insects and mosquitoes
Summer season heat and humidity is always a battle with mosquitoes and little flying insects that are attracted to your breath (mainly, the carbon dioxide we exhale). I've got electric fly swatters and other electric LED light zappers. Somehow, there's just too many of them. They also like the LED lights we have outside our garage and by our front door. I needed to get another electric light bulb zapper to add to my arsenal and I bought this Feit electric LED bug zapper light bulb. It fits in a regular light bulb socket. No adapters or any of those nonsense stuff needed. It's fairly straightforward. Once you screw this lightbulb in the socket you just turn on the light switch ON once to use this light bulb as a regular light. Turn it OFF and then ON a second time if you want to enable ONLY the zapper light (it's the purple light that turns on). Turn OFF and ON a third time if you want to have the regular light and the zapper light ON at the same time. Easy as apple pie. This light bulb is fat and it may not fit in some outdoor light bulb housing. In such case, you may need to get a socket extender. It will work, but it will look odd. This light bulb already zapped a bunch of flying insects. I've had to clean out the catch tray almost every day since I installed this. I like it since it keeps the insects under control somehow. The battle wages on.

DEFECTIVE right out of the box!
This bulb I bought won't light up! It does NOTHING (And, 'Yes' it's been tested in a working E26 socket that all other bulbs work in). Amazon and the mfg's. solution is for me to "return" this DEFECTIVE product at MY expense which is going to cost more than I paid for the $10 bulb in the 1st place (plus drive a 13 mile round trip to a drop off spot just to send it back). In the past, Amazon would have told me to trow the bulb away and they would send me a replacement, but now it seems they don't - ahem . . . "trust" their customers words. Gee . . I wonder what Bezos planning to do with all the 'broken' crap they get back??? BTW, Amazon . . You need to create "MINUS" Star ratings below your 5 stars. UPDATE: Following the limited warranty printed on the side of the box, I contacted Feit Electric, the manufacturer. After a series of emails back and forth, they agreed to send me a replacement bulb. It arrived today . . . in two pieces. The E26 screw-in base isn't attached to the bulb itself rendering it useless - and another "boat anchor"! I was also informed that I could not obtain another replacement - only 1 per customer. So my previous review GOES DOUBLE!!

Works almost too well
This bug zapper works very well. Cleaning can be a hassle though since there were bugs stuck inside that should've been too large to get inside but somehow did.

Pointless Negative Reviews - A+ Product
It's sad that even Amazon has this item marked as being frequently returned - because people don't read the instructions. People leave bad reviews because they don't read the instructions. This is hands down a 5⭐ item! It is SILENT! It does NOT make bug zapping noises! If bugs get to the core, they fall into an easily accessible pull out tray to be cleaned off. If bugs get stuck somewhere, this bulb comes with a tiny brush to simply brush them off. THIS ITEM IS TOGGLED THROUGH YOUR LIGHT SWITCH! It has an LED only mode (flick switch off and back on) a bug zapper only mode (flick switch off and back on) and a dual mode that runs BOTH the LED light AND the bug zapper at the same time. I used the tiny brush initially to clean in and around the porch light before installation... To clear the cobwebs off pretty much. Then I took 3 pictures to text a friend and by then, already had two little buggies dead. FEIT is an amazing brand. Well worth it to spend the extra money. I have a colored bulb I use constantly that's over 6 years old and I swear is unbreakable. Added note....it's been about 45 mins since installation and there's probably a good 20+ buggies either attached or in the tray! A+ Product! Can't wait til it gets dark and or rains! UPDATE: Item Returned! I THOUGHT I did thorough research before purchasing but my research was Mosquito-based. Apparently UV lights are ALSO used for floor-level COCKROACH traps. 2nd night of use saw one big giant roach outside on the wall close to the porch light. 3rd night of use it was SIX of those things! Light was removed completely and will be returned tomorrow. NOT adjusting my rating because it was doing an AMAZING job at killing mosquitoes. My friend just lives in a trailer park and apparently someone close by has roaches. Wondering if roaches would ever crawl in it and get zapped if given time but not willing to find out. They were only on the exterior wall of the porch surrounding the light and thankfully never came inside.

Feit can do better. As a "Follower" of Feit. I know they can.
I have been buying FEIT innovation for over 10 years. Starting with LED grow lights that are perfect for 10x20 seedling trays. 👍 This COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER! The flip on and flip off and flip on to change modes is great for a bathroom, especailly when it holds/retains the last mode used. They have a standard looking bulb that changes from very dim, to dim to bright with flips of the switch. But this bulb defaults to porch light. 😡 Have this socket on an electric eye, on for darkness? It comes on as a porch light. 😡 Have this socket on a timer? It comes on as a porch light. 😡 Have it working as a bug light any night and there is a loss of power? When the power is restored, it comes on as a porch light. 😡 C'Mon Feit! Why not a simple switch on the side for the default? Or any way at all to retain the setting for the above 4 events? Please? We need a way for the default in all cases to be: Comes on as a bug light! TPinSwUSA rating scale: ★ Well below expectations. And/or Listing is false. ★★ Below expectations and/or Significant listing errors or Significant problems. ★★★ Neutral - some good, some bad. Or highly priced for no known reason. ★★★★ Meets expectations. Price seemed competitive when review was written. ★★★★★ Exceeds expectations and/or the competition with Value. Unique.

This Zapper Eliminated my Gnats
This Bug-Zapper was used to combat the mini-gnats in my kitchen... apparently nesting in the garbage disposal. After 3 or 4 days, the gnats disappeared. I was surprised... and VERY HAPPY!

It must be blown clean regularly. I use a small leaf blower.
This works great, zaps the bugs & it’s an efficient LED. I would be interested in this bulb came with a daylight sensor off …
