Fat separator worked perfectly when I used it to remove the fat from My homemade chicken broth. The cup part of the bowl was big enough that I only had to strain 2 batches. The top strainer kept debris out of the broth. It is well made for the money. It is made so well I expect to be using it for years to come.

This is a very well made gravy separator. It separates the fat and other debris great when making something that requires gravy. I think it would also be great to use when making pancakes. Just leave the strainer part off and you can quickly dispense the right amount of batter for perfect pancakes. I can see so many other uses for this item as well. Well worth the purchase price.

Works well but the little plug on bottom can be pressed up and cause leak if placed on a towel seam edge of something hidden under the towel. Easy to wash on top rack. Size is good even when doing larger vegetable and 24+ pound turkey size broth. So far durability is good. Once separation has occurred; it is easy to extract fluid at a fast but controlled rate. You can chose when to stop flow well before fat line to include none or a little,

I wanted to try a different method for our Thanksgiving turkey gravy this year so purchased this for the process. Upon next day arrival it seemed to be well built but I was leery from reading reviews of similar products that leaked out the bottom. Didn't want to have a greasy turkey broth mess all over the counters, etc.. Of course I needed to clean it coming out of the packaging so I tested the bottom with the soapy water first and it did not leak. The same was true during the gravy making process too, no leaks at all. Product is simple and super easy to use. Just pour the broth in and let it sit for some minutes. You'll see all the fat separate out at the top. It doesn't take as long as simply letting the fat rise from broth pour without this fat separator because of the aeration that happens from the pour into lid. You're also able to see from the side exactly where the fat line is and because it drains from the bottom you can tell precisely when to stop the draining, leaving all the fat inside the separator. The only flaw I found is this is a four cup capacity but the four cup line is right at the bottom of the separator lid so the four cups includes that fat you don't want. Because of this you won't get a full four cups of clean broth because the fat took up some of the four cup capacity. If there was a bit more room at the top you could get a good fat rise and a full four cups of broth out. It's easy to drain the fat and pour more broth in a second time but just wanted to point that out for others. Overall, this was a great purchase, arrived quickly and worked like a champ!! Glad I purchased it! :)

I’m an older homesteader who cans meat, vegetables, and fruits pretty much year round. This tool has been very helpful! I would have preferred glass over plastic, but that was cost prohibitive on my fixed income. This Separator functions as described and will suffice for my needs. And it is attractive enough to leave displayed on an open shelf in my canning kitchen when not in use. It has a large capacity, strains out large pieces well, and I can add cheesecloth when I need finer straining. Works for me!

I bought this because it claimed to be glass, but it is just hard plastic. It was a rip off.

Only bought the expensive bit of fat separator because it stated the material was glass, but it is hard plastic.

This project clearly states the material is glass but it’s plastic. It’s a rip off, its advertised as glass which is the only reason I bought it. Waited ages for it to arrive, could have bought a plastic one and arrive the next day.
