Installed on my 2007 Ford Expedition EL. Front drivers side lower ball joint. The product seems well made and I like that it has a grease fitting as opposed to the one I replaced. This was my first time replacing a ball joint and took a lot longer than I had hoped. I rented the ball joint service kit from my local Advance Auto so it cost nothing for the tool (deposit for cost of the tool that's refunded once returned). I actually ended up not using the tool to remove the old ball joint...just beat it out with a hammer since it was stuck in the steering knuckle. The 3 biggest hangups I had with the job were: 1) steering knuckle didn't want to come loose from the ball joint...beat on it with a hammer until it finally dropped loose. A ball joint separator tool may have helped. 2) The ball joint got stuck in the steering knuckle (after loosened) because I didn't take the lower nut off the ball joint the whole way. I backed off the nut most of the way, but left it on the ball joint until I broke the steering knuckle loose. The nut was still tight on the ball joint shaft and when I tried to turn it, it would just spin the whole shaft. I ended up hammering out the ball joint from the lower control arm, taking off the entire steering knuckle and cutting off the old ball joint with a cutting wheel. Should have just taken the nut whole way off, lubed the threads and reinstalled just enough to get a grip to keep the knuckle from falling off when knocked loose. 3) installing the new ball joint was a challenge because it was difficult to keep it lined up straight when tightening the press. The tool I rented appeared to be very well used and may have had a bend in the main clamp. Once I got it started and somewhat straight, I used a cordless impact wrench to tighten the press tool until the joint was through the control arm enough to put the snap ring on (another pain to do without the right size snap ring pliers). Overall I was pleased with the product and saved at least $300 over having the local garage replace it. Hopefully it lasts a long time because I don't want to replace it again.
