Dead Again

Dead Again is an overall great album. The title track is epic and extremely scary just as I like to hear from the KING ! If get it for no other reason but this track you won't be let down. This album and 9 are the last 2 Mercyful Fate records to date. If you haven't checked out 9 buy it as well; you won't be disappointed. There's tons of falsetto on this record and lots of great hooks; not to mention the writing. It is important to mention though that King Diamond and Hank Shermann are the only original members of Fate on this. The other guys are from previous and current King Diamond solo bands except for the drummer who was on the last three records. But it doesn't matter ! This record is killer ! I was hesitant at buying this and 9 for years just because of the new member issue. Man was I wrong. The King always delivers. Put it in and play it loud ! It's excellent.

It took me a few listens to fully get into it, but once I did, it was worth it. I own all of the King Diamond solo material and a few of his later era Mercyful Fate stuff, and I think this stands up pretty well with all of it. No, it's not a 5 star like "Them", and it's not quite as good as other 4 star albums like "Abigail", "Time" or "Spider's Lullabye", but it has a consistently heavy, eerie sound throughout that was just way too good to deserve a 3 rating. I'd say it is more like a 3.8 stars, so I rounded it up, whereas I'd put the aforementioned 4 star albums somewhere between 4-4.5 stars. There are no bad songs on here, although some of the songs don't stand out as much as others. My favorites, and they kick some serious butt, are Torture, Since Forever, The Lady Who Cries, and the best of the bunch, Banshee. Again, it's not the very best King Diamond/Mercyful Fate album ever put out, but it's a darn good one and I highly recommend it.

I loved this album from beginning to end. Never a dull song from Mercyful Fate!!!

I have to first of all say this is by far the heaviest Mercyful Fate record todayit's nottheir best Record but it's definitely in the top 3 just my opinionjust wish they put something new out

Si vous aimez Mercyful Fate et King Diamond, alors vous devez acheter cet album ! Mélodies lancinantes et titres bien psychotiques soutenues par une musique sans faille bien hard tout en restant stylée... héhéhé, du bon King quoi. Très professionnel. Un des diamants du King.

Hier mal wieder ein typisches Werk von Mercyful Fate.Komplexe Songstrukturen die es den Hörer manchmal recht schwer machen.Aber der Mercyful Fate Fan kennt und liebt sie genau dafür.Über den Gesang brauchen wir hier nicht weiter schreiben.Wer den Gesang nicht mag kauft die Scheibe eh nicht.Alle anderen bekommen wie gewohnt ein sehr gutes Metalalbum in gewohnt sehr guter Qualität.Old school metal versteht sich natürlich.Ich brauchte aber ein paar Durchläufe mehr als sonst.Aber das bedeutet nix negatives.Bei Mercyful Fate ist die Metalwelt noch in Ordnung.Ganz klar 5 Sterne !
