Easy to use if you have a base level of tech ability. My unit was set to German NIB. A little fiddling and now it speaks English. The seller followed up after the sale, which was appreciated. Great product, at the very least, for the shade tree mechanic. Not sure about the professional end user. The price was very reasonable. Plugged it in and it read the code instantly. It is well built with an easy to read display.

Really nice. By far, the best of several I have used at this price point. Does lots of stuff, screen is clear and easy to read, and most important for this cost, you get a live graph on a couple of critical points. I don't see how you could be disappointed.

Has a good overall selection of protocols. Is a bit limited on certain vehicles but the price levels it out. My favorite feature is the live data collection, especially having the ability to see live protocols with a graph interface. Very helpful with accuracy particularly oxygen readings. I’m sure there will be or is already updates to the overall vehicle spectrum. Would recommend easy to use and very useful for getting the data needed for repair pinpointing. Satisfied with the price and the overall functionality.

This tool should be a staple for all car owners. The CGSULIT Scan Tool SC204 OBD2 Scanner is very affordable and very useful. Thanks to this tool, I diagnosed a problem and then was able to fix it. It did not take long for me to become acclimated with the tool, though it will be some time to fully understand the live data. Reading the codes was a snap. The internet helps a gr8 deal with learning to read live data, and what it means. I purchased this item, specifically, because it was recommended by Scotty Kilmer. When it comes to automotive care, he's the guy to follow.

Works to help find your problems with ease

Product would like a champ - I’ve tried others and many will not connect with BMW Z4 but this one does & gave me the codes I needed.

My Subaru has on 4 or 5 occasions had the engine light come on. It has usually been nothing important, but I have had to go to my mechanic to check it out, and clear the code. This scanner saved me a trip to the mechanic soon after I received it. I was able to google the scan error code detected, which was not any sort of major problem, and was then able to clear the code myself. I'll be carrying it in the car when I go on any long trips.

If you have an engine code, and this scanner is compatible, it will read it for you no problem. I used it to diagnose a faulty smog pump in a 2008 Toyota Tundra (north american mfg). after the replacement, we're back in action. Saves time and money by directing you to the exact problem. The fact that large shops &etc will charge 200$ just for this, is absolutely robbery. Buy a code scanner compatible with your engine. again, please ensure the scanner is compatible with your engine before buying. match the plugs in the photographs first.

Outstanding value for money tool

Excellent bit of check for the price. I use it so rarely I can’t judge whether it will last long with more frequent use. More sophisticated units check for other automobile systems, but I think this has the main ones.
