Curby Mini-Taper

For the price I didn't expect it to be this good given how much other manual dispensers are of this kind. But it works great and using the water activated tape is so much more fun now. Easy to load the tape and the glue is activated on the whole strip.

I really wish I got this sooner. I ship about 10-15 packages per month. I always wanted to make the jump from plastic tape to paper tape. I stuck through years of the plastic adhesive being weak or coming off. NO MORE! The operation is simple. Load tape, add water to reservoir, press lever for amount and cut. Saves me so much time and makes packing less frustrating. Plus the milage of tape goes way further than I expected. It has almost been a year and I still haven't finished my first roll yet (about 25% left). And I have been very liberal with the amount I was using per package. There are some minor nitpicks. I'm still getting used to guessing the precise length off instinct. I'm sometimes over or under. But that's just me going by my gut. I should just measure and calculate it by looking at the markings. On two rare occassions the tape did jam. You will know when it stops coming out. Only takes a few minutes to straighten it up. No big deal. Water activated tape is the way to go! It's stronger and no plastic waste. The dispenser is expensive for what it is but still totally worth the convenience and time saved.

This is exactly what I needed! I had one of those open frame dispensers and it was always such a pain. This has worked flawlessly for many months. My only gripe is that I wish IPG sold non-reinforced tape that fits this dispenser. We don't use plastic in our packaging so we won't use the reinforced tape and it is hard to find non-reinforced tape. The best I've found is to buy 2.75" x 600' rolls and split it into three roughly equal rolls (use a drill to wind it into a roll)

Buyer Beware - Worked well for 40 days, now it's junk. We ship frequently, this tape dispenser worked really well for about 40 days, then the blade stops cutting as it is poorly soldered to the inside and falls off. Now 60 days in, it's just wasting space, no longer works, and past our return window. It's priced well....but is not worth the value as it's a product you would need to buy multiple times a year.

If I could give it a 10 Star review I would! Incredible unit especially for small to large businesses. Extremely easy to use, very inexpensive compared to other options.

I have had this product for just over 2 years now and have gone through 8 rolls (800m) of tape. About 2-3 rolls ago I've run into an issue where the wheel doesn't have enough grip to dispense the tape as it used to. So I am having to pull tape with the lid off to dispense how much is needed without the weight of the roll causing issues. I am going to use a 4-5 inch long rod about 1 inch rod to take the weight off the roll and hope this fixes the issue. There has been some issues with it not cutting right here and there but not has big of a headache as the name not dispensing as it should. You will not find anything else on the market for the price point. The cheap manual units from uline are 300 the name brands are 500. Overall I am pleased with the item, if I am able to correct the drive wheel slipping then I will like it as much as when I first got this.

it saves us so much time and is way sturdier than regular tape. The only minor issue is that I occasionally get water on top of the tape, not just underneath. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong, but it’s not a big deal—just a little messy now and then.

Great product, great design, everything. It looked perfect for our needs, and worked great with their kraft paper tape out of the dispenser. No issues whatsoever. Issues once we tried to use our 3" custom paper tape in the dispenser- it's slightly too wide- total bummer. Their tape width is 2.83" I believe, which fits perfect and always feeds but can't take the 3" paper tape, which appears to be a pretty standard size. There wasn't a disclaimer in the listing I could find regarding tape width- I would've tried to find another dispenser to fit or a custom tape to fit their dispenser. I would love to connect with the company seller on options for a custom tape that would fit their dispenser, but as with most things on Amazon (other than clicking "Buy"), it's intentionally difficult to do anything. If you use a custom paper tape or buy a different brand to drop-in, ensure it's a 2.83" width tape! Or buy their tape.

We used to use poly tape. This is our 1st gum tape machine and I was a little concerned it was all plastic but have been using it daily for several months and it's an amazing machine. This is the only gum machine I've used, but absolutely love it. It's increased our packaging speed, gone through two rolls of tape, and still look like it just came out of the box. 10 outta 10!

The water activated tape that comes with the machine leaves much to be desired. You have to unroll the tape as it is otherwise sticking to itself and not able to go through the feed. After months of usage, I find the dispenser useless. I wasted a lot of tape simply because it kept getting stuck at the exit, even after troubleshooting it

When you press the dispense button, it is fine for a little while but then the tape feed gets caught which causes a rip on the side and then extends the tape on the inside, which means you have to manually feed it through. We ended up stopping using the cutting mechanism and using scissors to cut instead to avoid the issue. We are now trying to replace the tape but at $75 a roll that is really too much. It doesn't work with the water activated tape we have in stock which is 50mm in width and a thinner product. The product description didn't specify this. Would really like a refund at this point!

Pricey but there's nothing like it
