Q: So do you have to be dead on perfect the moment you set the glass, or can minute adjustments be made once it's down?

It takes 48 hours to cure. You have 5 to 10 min before you can't adjust window anymore. Side note. Urathan will stain anything it touches even your skin. So be very careful and don't use more than you need to.

Q: Will 3m 08693 auto glass urethane secure the rear glass to a canvas convertible top? sides and bottom have separated and need to be glued.

Yes. I purchased a small piece of convertible roof fabric on ebay which matched my convertible's black top and I cut it to fit the lower part below therear window with about a one inch overlap onto the window. I followed the adhesive directions and glued the new material right onto the window andthe old convertible fabric. I let it sit for 48 hours. Today, you can hardly notice it was repaired and the adhesive still adheres to the glass.
