Loose female connection
Purchased the 2 pack for adapting mono helmet speakers to a stereo radio. First adapter worked great the first time. Second time out audio was very spotty and had to wiggle/hold the connection to get to work, even when taped together. Noticed the female connection became very loose so switched to the 2nd adapter and it has a much tighter fit again. Worried about longevity of the product as I use this for safety communication during racing and don't want this to fail mid race.

Is it New Original Surplus from the 20th Century?
Yeh, the first one I tried wasn't passing any audio signal. But it was a simple matter or rotating the adapter a dozen times relative to the things plugged into the two ends -- I assume to scratch away the oxide layer -- and then it started to work. Maybe a shot of De-oxit would have made it require fewer rotations to get it working 100%. The second one worked immediately. In summary, they can be scratchy. Every time I use one, I'll give it a few rotations for some confidence that both ends are making best contacts. I don't remember seeing these available on Amazon with gold-tone connectors, which might have helped.

WOOPS!
BTW: This little adapter is strong and the connections are tight and seem well made. The ONLY problem was that I MADE A MISTAKE. I was trying to get the stereo signal combined so that my headphones would now be in mono instead of stereo. However, when I plugged this adapter in, only ONE side of the headphones worked. APPARENTLY: I Need to buy a Mono to Stereo adapter instead. Not the sellers fault so I'll eat the mistake.

They work. Kind of.
They work. Kind of. They are not the tightest fit and have the tendency to wiggle causing the audio to cut in and out but when they work they work doing what they are supposed to do. I bought these as a test of quality and tolerances with many other connectors/adapters needed and personally I was not impressed. Will I be returning them and making a big deal about the quality issues they have? No, they were not that expensive to begin with and the hassle and costs to do everything involved to return them is not worth it to me. However, perhaps my review will help someone else who's deciding on this product. This was my personal experience and if you purchase these your results may vary.

Mono to Stereo (sort of)
I bought these as I had a mono channel go into the back of a stereo speaker, but the connection wasn't good. So now the mono cable (male 3.5mm connector) goes into the back of this adapter, the male side of which goes into the back of my stereo speaker. Solved my problem.
