800 pump functionality is great; FYI: Be careful buying the 1200!
EDIT UPDATE 2016-12-02: Used the pump for one full season now. For me, that's about 28 days out fishing in that boat, using the pump. Pump is still working strongly, smoothly, and quietly. Can't guarantee it's pumping 800GPH, but it pumps a lot of water pretty quickly! Could be 800GPH; no reason to think it isn't. I would guesstimate the pump ran about 50 hours of actual pumping. Most of that is in 1 minute bursts every 3-5 minutes. On one particular trip, the pump runs full time for 1-2 hours at a pop, about 3-4 times on the trip. The *REST* of the time it runs day and night on 'intermittent' mode, about one minute spray every 5 minutes, because we're keeping large live bait in the livewell for catfishing. And like I said, it's still running strong and quiet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INITIAL REVIEW (made immediately after purchase as a 'buyer beware' type thing): The reason I am writing a review so soon after purchase is to possibly help someone else avoid the issue I had. I waffled back and forth between the 800GPH and the 1200GPH model. I had both in my cart, and decided what the heck... I went with the 1200. BUT what I didn't realize was that the input and output sizes CHANGED from 3/4" on the 500 and 800, to 1 1/8" on the 1200. On discovering the problem (with my head down in the bilge area of my boat failing to get the pump intake pipe thru the transom), I crawled out and went back to the Amazon page where I ordered it and DID see a little bullet item at the top when the 1200 was selected, saying that it was 1 1/8". So it was my own fault, but I'm guessing other folks might not notice like I didn't, OR might not REALLY realize what that means... Most aluminum boats under 22' have 3/4" diameter input/output livewell pump fittings. So if you buy the 1200, you have some serious work to do to make it usable, including drilling the current 3/4" transom hole out to 1 1/8" (which is likely to be difficult). Also the 3/4" hose going to the livewell sprayer won't fit on the pump output. So you'll need to replace that hose, or get a 'converter' to take the pump output down from 1 1/8" to 3/4", which will restrict the pump output, and might stress the pump.

Powerful and quiet pump
I inherited an older boat with a ton of little issues, including a livewell pump that was completely shot. I'm not super handy or boat-savvy, but swapping in this Attwood Tsunami aerator pump was surprisingly straightforward. No major headaches or special tools needed. Once I got it installed and out on the water, I was really impressed. It fills the livewell super quick, keeps the water moving well, and my bait and fish have stayed lively without any problems. It's also pretty quiet and runs smooth with just a low hum, nothing annoying or loud like some pumps I've heard about. Zero complaints so far. For longevity (since I've heard these can get clogged in weedy water), I added a wide screen over the intake to block weeds and junk. Fingers crossed it lasts a long time with that extra protection. If your old pump died and you're looking for an easy, reliable replacement, this one's a solid choice. Definitely worth it!

Great for small boat bait systems.
Almost left a bad review. However I saw that it lasted about 1.5 years in salt water. I used it at least 1x a week minimum. Works great with Ez pump water pick up system (see pictures) and 13 gallon bait tank. Carry a spare on your boat. Easy to swap out. As soon as it gets noisy you don’t have long to replace before it goes. Mine got noisy then next day didn’t work and blew the fuse.
