Lonely Planet New Zealand's Best Trips 1 (Trips Country)

A great help in putting together an itinerary for exploring New Zealand via road trips. But you still need to get their guide books for more detailed information about cities, restaurants, accommodations and points of interest. Comes with pretty good maps, so don't waste your money on their stand-alone NZ map.

It gave good details about what you could see and what you should see on each car trip. We found it invaluable!!

Good information but more difficult to navigate than a book. Does have links, though, which are helpful.

This is a great guide, but the copy I received was defective. Pages missing, pages bent and sewn into the spin.

Aber der Titelzusatz "Best Trips" führte bei mir zu einer anderen Erwartungshaltung. + es werden vom Autor schöne Teil-Routen beschrieben + interessante Übernachtungs- und Restaurantempfehlungen - keine Routenkarten - ohne Entfernungs- oder Zeitangaben - keine Empfehlung zur Verbindung zwischen zwei Routen

I had purchased a Lonely Planet guidebook and was very disappointed. Imagine a telephone directory with a few photographs. Hardly inspiring. I took a chance on this guide and it arrived today. Outstanding. Each of the 26 road trips starts with an overview map. This is followed by a more detailed map and highlights along the route with a small amount of really helpful and inspiring information for each highlight. A really helpful feature is the Link Your Trip feature which suggests linking the particular road trip into two other trips. There is also a Detour feature which has thrown up two options for my particular holiday plans which I hadn't thought of. Jammed packed with amazing photographs, this really is one book you must take with you to NZ. The DK New Zealand guide book would also the my other recommendation - it too is exceptional. Buy. Go. Enjoy.
