Five CD set. The Original Album Classics series, courtesy of Sony/BMG, packages together five classic albums from one of the most popular artists on the label's roster, housing them in an attractive slipcase. This set from the American Power Pop rockers features the albums at Budokan, Dream Police, One on One, Lap of Luxury and Busted. Review: Very pleased - Great cd package for Cheap Trick fans who might be on a tight budget. Review: Four albums and a sampler of Busted - I'm giving this five stars for the albums included, because they are four good records. However; Busted is a sampler. After the first three tracks, all the tracks start in the middle of the track and are missing large chunks. They are samplers of the tracks. Busted may not be my favorite album, but I do like it enough to want the whole album.

5 stars just based on At Budokan, Dream Police, and One on One.
The second installment of Cheap Trick's Original Album Series features the Cheap Trick albums that in their original releases sold more than those originally released on the first version of this series (Cheap Trick, In Color, Heaven Tonight, All Shook Up, Next Position Please). However, the albums on the first version have endured better overall. Still you have to give this 5 stars based on bang for the buck. At Budokan would break the band and is a fantastic live album while Dream Police is a near killer and One on One comes close. Lap of Luxury is not one of their better albums but did spawn their only #1 hit in the very good power ballad "The Flame" and another hit in the decent cover of Elvis Presley's "Don't Be Cruel". Busted wasn't very good but it sold decent and it's out of print and you're going to pay more for this album or One on One alone than the classic albums together at this point. As with all of the Original Album series, it's all about the music. There are no liner notes, you have the cardboard sleeves, and the only bonus tracks are on the Dream Police disc (and they are all great). If you can get this for less than 25 bucks, it's a steal based on At Budokan, Dream Police, and One On One alone. Consider Lap of Luxury and Busted as bonus albums.

Four Stars
The "Busted" album kinda sucks, but everything else rocks mostly. Killer deal on this compact package!!!

No-brainer value
Cheap Trick! Great collection from perhaps the most under-rated band ever! Not everything they do is golden, but the vast majority of this very versatile band's music IS golden. Fun stuff. This collection is a great deal. I personally love these collections; no liner notes, but I never read 'em anyway (too much like reading directions, I guess).

I never knew much about cheap trick. All I knew was they sang the song The Flame back when I was a little kid in the late 80's. So I thought they were an easy listening band. Jump to 2015 and I happened to hear this awesome song called Surrender in the film Pixels and became curious as to who sang it. I discovered it was cheap trick and they were actually not an easy listening band. And the song The Flame was a power ballad. I noticed that they were coming to town for a concert and took a chance and went. I was not disappointed, they are awesome live. In fact I'd say they are one of the best live acts I've ever seen and I've seen a whole lotta concerts. First I bought volume 1 of their 5 disc set. I was hooked. Then got this volume 2 set. Once again I was not disappointed. I had another treat with this set. Another song I loved and once again I had heard it from a movie. At the end of Joe Dirt, the song If You Want My Love. That was on one of the albums on this 5 disc set. A great collection.

Almost the same box set but without the debut album and Lap Of Luxury added instead. Each one a classic and a great value for money replacement for some 30-odd year old vinyl. Apart from Lap of Luxury these cd's have additional tracks for the collector. The individual reviews for each album cannot be added to. For prime time Cheap Trick, this collection is the one stop shop, along with At Budokan.
