I bought this tape along with two other brands of very similar cloth tape to use for wrapping automotive wiring harnesses. This should not be compared to hardware store cloth friction tape. While not precisely identical to the original factory material, it has proved to be an acceptable substitute. Howie's immediately became my favorite of the different brands I tried. It adheres readily, wraps evenly and conforms well. Appears to be durable as well. It is difficult to remove if you make a mistake! I did not wrap any hockey sticks.

So, obviously I didn't use it for a hockey stick or anything related to hockey. Instead, I used to to protect my bat grip and to add a flare to the bat without needing to buy a bat taper. This thing works wonderfully! It adds the perfect flare without it feeling like a rubber knob at the end, and was easy to put on! It holds up very well, and feels very high quality! It sticks to itself without the need for electrical tape, but I use it anyway to secure it better! I barely even used 1 roll for 4 bats, and still have plenty left over, so it was definitely worth the price! Highly recommend it for whatever sport you plan on using it for!
