Reliable tool, made of high quality steel
Really strong cutting steel. With this tool I was able to restore the thread of the bung, holding the o2 sensor of a 30-year old exhaust pipe. The thread of the sensor was welded to the thread of the bung. With it and the proper cutting fluid, and 1/4 forward and back, tighten-release movements, I was able to restore the the full thread on 80%, enough to tighten the new sensor in. I am looking forward on buying other Lisle tools - they are historically proven as strong and reliable.

Using to chase AIR injection threads in exhaust manifold
I bought this to chase AIR injection port threads in one of the steel tubular exhaust manifolds on a 1986 Chevy. They are also M22 x 1.5. The only issue I had is the pilot on the end of the tool prevents it from threading into the manifold all the way before bottoming out(not a problem if using it for it's intended use). I chose to face it off in my lathe. Also, as with all cutting tools use a good quality cutting oil. Ridgid Nu-Clear is my go-to. These will also work on Cummins oil pans that use a M22 x 1.5 drain plug.

Very well made tool
I bought this to try to restore the threads when I took the particle matter sensor out of my Ford 6.7 diesel exhaust. It would’ve worked great if I hadn’t messed up my threads so bad it would work great for cleaning up threads but the stainless seem to be too hard to restore threads that were badly damaged, but I would buy it again for the next time

Very handy
Great for replacing soot sensors, they are always a pain. If your lucky and get it out without pulling all the threads or just breaking the bung off then you need this tool.

When removing a stubborn vaporizer nozzle from a transit Dpf, it damaged most of the threads. With this tread chaser I was able to restore the threads and avoid a costly Dpf replacement. Tool arrived faster than a replacement filter would have. Must have tool when working with newer diesel engines.

I especially use this for cleaning up axle nut threads. On axles that measure 22 mm x 1.5 mm. I run this thread chaser through the axle nut just to make sure that there’s no defects. Now I am less likely for the axle not to pile up and cross thread on the axle shaft.
