I was shown how to use this in a quilting class. It is made to help you close quilting safety pins (which, unlike regular ones, are curved.). You may use a large number of pins when prepping a quilt and closing them can make your fingers sore. This does take a bit of practice, but it’s worth the effort. Once I learned how to use it, my fingers were much less tired & sore. In fact, I liked it enough to buy a second one (one for the house, one to take to classes.)

This is a game changer! Such a simple device but it makes a huge difference to the speed and ease of pinning quilts. I was a bit sceptical but so glad I purchased it. There are clear instructions and it really has helped me baste my quilts. If you are wondering if it is worth it, I say 100% yes !
