Powerful and built to last!
This slicer is amazing! The build quality is solid and the blade is extremely sharp. It cuts frozen meat smoothly and evenly. Easy to clean, quiet, and feels like a professional machine. Perfect for home use — totally worth the investment!

Great Slicer
Took a while to get. But worth the wait.. Takes a little while to clean up. Really no different than any other. but cuts like butter. I read tons of reviews from lots of different slicers. The BESWOOD250 seamed to be on the top of the list. Granted I've only sliced a 7lb roast I cooked, ?Had room for much more. and a couple of Turkey breasts too. Quiet, super easy to use. definitely a little heavy and need a place to store it.... I made a place!! I used the old plastic gear ones before... They suck! Hope fully this will last for years. Build wise I think it will. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. ALL GOOD!!

Quality product at a decent price
Like one of the other top reviews, I had recently purchased an $80 slicer (mostly plastic) from Bed Bath and Beyond (Cuisinart). I've recently gotten into hot pots and making my own bacon, so I wanted an easy way to slice up all the meat and veggies. While the cheaper one worked OK, the tray was fairly small and the meat kept getting pulled off and into the blade. Overall, it was functional but frustrating. Based on the other review and after looking at all sorts of options, I pulled the trigger on this one. You'll immediately notice the heft of it - probably 30 pounds as compared to the 4 or 5 pounds of the cheaper one. I have used it for one hot pot with some soft to firm veggies in various thicknesses and some super thin sliced meats. I have to admit, it is a huge improvement over the cheaper one. It feels solid and professional quality for a very reasonable price. It is much larger than the other one, so find a place to store it. It made quick work of all veggies that I put it in and will slice meat from paper thin to thicker. It worked great with bacon and I only had to trim a small portion of the meat off before slicing. I'd imagine a 12" version wouldn't require any trimming. Cleaning is actually pretty easy. The carriage comes off with one thumb wheel, as does the blade guard and the sharpening housing. You can then remove the blade with 3 hex bolts and wash all of that stuff in the sink. Wipe down the housing and all surfaces and you are good to go. Maybe 10 minutes maximum. One of the other reviews noted that the housing below where the tray slides was getting dinged up - I see that on mine after a couple uses as well. Just cosmetic but worth noting. Very happy with this so far.

Easily the best kitchen gadget that I've bought
I've wanted a slicer for a long time, but have been gifted or otherwise used cheaper home-use slicers and they've always been horrible to use. I did the research and this kept popping up. So after a little bit of saving and a little bit of convincing myself I went ahead and got it. Received it today. Well packed, but mostly fully assembled (just had to attach one of the guards) Was able to clean it with the instructions provided and got it setup on my counter. I had planned around this coming, so I had a roast beef waiting to be sliced. All motions on this are buttery smooth. The motor does make sound, but it's not what I would consider loud. A far cry quieter than the stand mixer, if I'm being honest. Now for the slicing; it must be a Midwest thing but I love super thin sliced meats, almost but not shaved. This thing rocked like a champ at that. It does have a zero setting and goes all the way up to 12. These are not locked in settings (they dont click into place, you can dial in precisely where you want), you can adjust and go anywhere the blade will cut. The setting was very good at staying put and just rocked through the 3lb roast beef in just a few minutes. Perfectly thin sliced at not quite the half mark between 0 and 1 on the thickness dial. Paper thin and oh so stack-able on a sandwich. Cleanup wasn't as straight forward as I was anticipating, but after reading the directions it was simple enough. I was able to ensure that no crumbs or debris was left anywhere on or in the machine and it was completely cleaned and wiped down within about 5 minutes. The only downside that I can mention on this was the width of the food tray. It's plenty long so I can slice meatloaf lengthwise from my loaf pan, but how deep the tray goes is a bit limiting. I had to cut the 3lb roast down in order for it to fit within the food guide. There is a grip that can come down, but because of the high angle, it made it awkward to push it along for the slices. I dont really consider this too much of a downside as it is intended to be for home use, and if it were bigger, it'd be a bit more of a pain to store when not in use. Final downside is this thing is big. It wont fit in most of my cabinets nor will it fit in my walk in pantry without going to a top shelf, which is about head height. It will fit in one of my cabinets as long as I'm willing to sacrifice ease of accessing anything behind it. That said, It will likely live on the counter in a corner out of the way of normal food prep areas. Now, advice; if you're planning on doing a lot of slicing, this is definitely the slicer you want. If you're planning on slicing once or twice a season (or year) this is a hefty investment not only in money but space. I specifically got this because I do make my own lunch meats and cheeses so the slicer was just a next step in that direction. I should also note, i kind of consider this a kitchen gadget. It does one thing, it does it well, but there's no crossover. My stand mixer does all sorts of things for me from baking to cooking to candymaking, and even meat processing (with attachments) This will pretty much just slice meats and cheeses. Bottom line, I do highly recommend this slicer if you're in the market for one. Buttery smooth operation, nearly effortless slicing, and this thing just keeps on rocking. I'll come back and update after a year of planned moderate to heavy use to see how it holds up.

Nice slicer but be careful!
First this thing is nice and solid and a dream in operation. You get a consistent slice and it can go anywhere from 1/2" to transparent full slice shaved ham. That said there are some safety and usage concerns you should be aware of and the first is both. In order to shave ham I had to turn the dial back below 0 where unintuitively there is another scale in the form of a sort of swoosh that goes from a point and thickens until it hits 0. In fact, for ideally shaved ham I had to turn it back to the lowest setting with the knob turned all the way right. Which is also the safety concern... the instructions and most information I found suggested setting here so you won't get cut but obviously if the knife is still shaving ham at this depth, it can still shave your hand. There is no depth setting that fully retracts the knife so that it can't cut. The other safety concern is the product table, it slides freely and smoothly and there is no lock for it. There is a locking knob but this is actually to hold the product table on the slicer. If you remove it, you further expose that knife and have less compact storage. If you leave it on then were to hold it in the wrong place while moving it then as soon as you tilt it forward gravity is going to bring that table and your hand forward, potentially right into that knife. For these reasons I took two stars off on safety. I also took one off ease of use because 0 should be fully retracted and unable to cut and intuitively should be the beginning of the scale. I took one star off for cleaning. Objectively this slicer is a pain in the butt to clean and you also need to oil that carbon steel knife or it will rust. Manufacturers are responsible for fixing this problem so I'm not giving a pass and enabling continuation of a difficult to clean status quo. I'd have taken a couple stars off if not for the fact that difficult to clean is the current status of all slicers and this one is easier to clean vs many others.

The slicer you wish you had bought years ago!
Facing 50# of venison product needing to be sliced I went with this slicer based on a recommendation from a forum. It is much less that the comparable LEM product and has overall good reviews. Setup is an absolute breeze even with an initial cleaning and lubrication. I'm not sure the lubrication was absolutely needed right out of the box, but better safe than sorry. Time from unpacking to slicing: <30 minutes. Performance was better than expected. The belt drive results in a much quieter and smoother slicer than my previous slicer which was geared. Initial cuts were with venison bacon which is a ground/formed product. It was refrigerated prior to slicing and pretty firm. Slices at the 3 setting were perfect for thick cut style bacon and there was little to no tearing noted which indicates the blade was sharp upon arrival. At the other end of the spectrum, I set up for 1.5mm thick slices of venison mortadella. This was also refrigerated but much more prone to tearing. The slicer breezed through the mortadella without any tear out except for the final slice or two when the meat was not well supported by the tray. I gave block of smoked cheese, and two sticks of summer sausage a try as well. The slicer performed admirably on all foodstuffs I fed it. Cleanup was also easier than expected. 99% of the cleanup can be done by removing three (3) knobs. A few of mine came overly tight from the factory, but that is an easy remedy and I was able to remove everything without an overt struggle. Overall time to clean up the first time was between 15-20 minutes and I imagine it will go faster in the future. The only con/complaint I have with the entire unit is the stoke could be ideally 1" longer. It's just a bit too short for all the work I asked of it. An aftermarket longer tray would be a really nice accessory to offer as well. Overall it is well worth the cost and a 5-star rating. Expecting many years of service from this slicer.

Great meat slicer
I bought this for home use. I looked at many slicers and weighed the costs and I believe that I got the best slicer for the money. This thing is insanely sharp when it is not running. It is very smooth and very quiet. I've used it only on pork bellies so far but I could have sworn that it was butter. I occasionally repair kitchen commercial equipment at work and I have seen more expensive product not as well built as this slicer. You will definitely have to take care when transporting it and cleaning it as the blade is extremely sharp. It is not difficult to clean and it is built to easily disassemble, clean, and then reassemble. It takes a little while but is worth it. I sliced aver 10 lbs of cured bacon approximately 3/16" thick in about a minute or so. It is built to tight tolerances and I do not foresee having to replace any worn parts for a very long time. I recommend this product for residential use for sure as well as a commercial kitchen. I would buy another if I needed one. UPDATE! I have had this slicer for well over a year. I have used it on several slabs of bacon as well as pork loins and deer meat. Theis thing has not missed a beat. It is awesome. I have not had to sharpen the blade as it has stayed razor sharp and I am very careful with it while cleaning. I did learn not to put the components in the dishwasher. They have lost their finish and I see some discoloration after just doing this once. I am going to have to check it thoroughly and hopefully it is still safe to use. I have worked on a lot of commercial kitchen equipment over the better part of 20 years and this slicer is built just as well as the bigger and more expensive slicers. I recommend washing by hand only. Overall I am very pleased with this slicer and I recommend it to anyone that needs one. UPDATE: I have had this slicer for almost two years and it has performed flawlessly. DO NOT put any components of this slicer in a dishwasher if you want to maintain the finishes on the aluminum. Every part that I put into my dishwasher was severely tarnished to the point that I had to replace those pieces. This is still an awesome piece of kitchen equipment. I work on (as in repair and maintain) commercial equipment and this one is as well built as any high end slicer. 5 year Update: I’ve had this thing for almost 5 years now. I just sliced a little over 30lbs of home smoked bacon. I partially freeze my bacon before I slice it. It easily and effortlessly slices through the slabs. It took me only about 20 minutes total slicing time. It works just as it did when it was new. It still looks new and I have not had to replace any parts and have sharpened the knife only once. Excellent buy.

Great
I always read the one stars before I buy anything. I did on this product as well, but after really looking at the pictures I could see it was well made so i bought it and I am happy I did. Now, the first one I received didn't work right, I returned it and got another with no issue. The company was easy to work with. Most of the time the one stars have a valid point. But , I can't understand what any of these people are talking about. This is a really solid and serious cutting machine. All pieces are solid and medal. You hear the motor turn on and you know it has power. The cutting is fantastic. I cut chicken breat so thin it looks like membrane. I could see my fingers through it. I saw people say it's complicated to clean and you do have to take things apart but again I can't imagine anything that wouldn't to be taken apart after cutting raw chicken. All the parts are easy to wash but you have to be careful when cleaning, the bery sharp blade. But it's not dangerous to use. I can tell you it's designed that you can get to all the spots and clean it well. That would be the big issue for me if there were spots where chicken could build up, but there is not. This is a really well build professional quality cutting machine. All the others I saw had plastic parts and this is all ALL medal. Other than some safety shields that you don't even need and I haven't used. If you look at others machines you will see a plastic guide, that you push the meat to the slicer. I could see that becoming a problem eventually. This machine doesn't have any of that. I don't know why this thing would get a one star and if someone said they bought it for their deli I wouldn't be shocked. Definitely a good machine.
