Best lupin bean or flour recipe
I love this lupin. I use it as a rice substitute and in pancakes, grits, bread or panko replacement in recipes. This is a staple product I purchase regularly and is a must-have in my house as I am low carb and do not eat bread, pasta, or rice.

Great side dish that is hardy like a carb would be!
Made this to have with chicken and crab. I added butter after I set it sit and soften. Very happy with the texture. I plan to buy the plain a make a breakfast sweet grits/cream of wheat/oatmeal dish.

Overseasoned to the point of being inedible
I bought the garlic and herb variety and honestly I can't imagine a worse-tasting product. It's like they put enough seasonings for a carton of this stuff into one bag. I'm one of those people who will eat almost anything, even if it's not the greatest. But I couldn't muster the strength to force this one down. I probably would have liked it if I had bought the plain variety to season myself. I'll probably still be open to trying that one, but I'll run as far and as fast as possible from the seasoned varieties

Quick, Easy, and Delicious!
If you are looking for a side dish that is lower in carbs and yet higher in protein then your usual starchy side dish, you've got to try this stuff. It's easy, delicious, and a great substitute for some things that are less than healthy. Only130 calories per quarter cup, 14 g of carbohydrate, and a whopping 12 g of fiber. 12 g of protein. All you do is put it in a bowl with one and a half cups of water and then cook it for about 3 minutes and the microwave. Then it fluffs up the same way you would fluff up couscous. Very satisfying because it sticks with you and has a nice mild garlic flavor. Keto friendly and gluten-free. Product of Australia. I appreciate that the company lets you know where the product originated. It's packed in the USA. Carb lovers rejoice, because you feel like you're eating a ton of carbs with this, even though you're not.

It's alright, as I expected, but there are not that many servings in the 7oz bag
I knew what I was getting into when I ordered this Garlic & Herb flavor Ground Lupin Bean. The photo on the package made me think of grits and couscous. I wasn't too far off. The package here is full of lots of information. This is a product of Australia, but packed in the USA. The ingredients are very simple, and there are not many of them. There is Lupin, Garlic Powder, Salt, Spices, Onion Powder, Natural Flavor, Sugar, Lactic Acid, and Silicon Dioxide. That's it. The package reads that this package can provide 6 servings, with each serving being about 130 calories. I was a bit skeptical of this, considering how small this package is. There are simple directions to cooking this, in that you just bring 1.75 cups of water to a boil, add this entire package of Ground Lupin, stir, add a cover to the pot, reduce heat to low and cook for 2 minutes. After that, remove from heat and let it sit covered for 1-2 minutes. After that, it's ready to be served. A strange thing, though, this bag is resealable, however it only lists directions for cooking the entire package. Though, it is pretty easy to figure how to cook just half of it. It's a bit odd for this bag to be resealable, and did make me think that if there were more contents in the bag, being resealable would make more sense. The taste of this product is alright, but not something I would be itching to buy often considering the size of the bag for the price. When I cooked the package according to the directions on the bag, I found the food to be a bit dry, so I just added a bit more water to it, placed it in the microwave, and fluffed it. If I had another bag of this to cook, I would probably use 2 cups of water, instead of the 1.75 mentioned in the cooking directions. I split this into about 2 servings. I refrigerated the other half, and when I was ready to eat it the next day, I just added a bit of water to it, placed it in the microwave, fluffed it, and it tasted fine as leftovers. I like garlic, and there is some flavor there, but not as strong as I expected. This works OK as a side dish, which is what it advertises as. Overall, I found this Garlic & Herb flavor Ground Lupin a bit unimpressive, but it tasted alright, almost as I expected. I don't quite get why there is such small quantity of this Ground Lupin in the bag, but looking at the other products offered from Carrington Farms, I see they also offer a 32oz size of their unflavored Ground Lupin Bean with a lesser cost per ounce than the 7oz bag. I am guessing that a 32oz bag may be in the works for this Garlic & Herb flavor. I have mixed feelings on this Garlic & Herb flavor Ground Lupin. I feel it could use a bit more flavor, however I can always add my own additions to it. I do feel part of my mixed feelings has to do with the bag size, as there was only so much I could try with the product in the small 7oz bag. Knowing there is a larger 32oz size bag available of the unflavored Ground Lupin Bean from Carrington Farms, maybe they'll later offer this flavor in a larger bag.

Great tasting ground lupin beans! Easy to prepare and add to just about anything. Filling!
I love lupin beans, so this Carrington Farms, Ground Lupin Bean in Garlic and Herb is right up my alley. It's very filling and versatile, and I like the protein content in it. You can add this to a variety of dishes and it is SO easy to cook - even in the microwave! The flavor is great with this, and one serving is actually a small amount to add to your dishes - so you get more servings out of this smaller sized bag than you'd think. I really like it and it tastes great - it gets two thumbs up from me!

Texture reminds me of falafel; taste reminds me of salt and bitter herbs
I am probably about as close to an ideal target audience as you can get for this sort of product. I like beans, and I like quinoa. I love couscous and garlic, and I like the sort of herbs that would go with garlic. I’m also a bit heavy-handed with the salt. So when I saw reviews talking about how this was too garlicy and too salty, I figured that it would probably be fine for me. Well, I was wrong. This tastes too salty and kind of bitter. I don’t think it tastes too garlicy, though. I’d take more garlic. I think the herbs came through in a kind of odd way. In my opinion, the flavor is pretty terrible, and I can’t understand how this passed the taste-testing process and got released. As far as the texture goes, I’d say that it actually reminds me more of falafel that hasn’t been formed into balls. So I guess lupin beans must be similar to chickpeas. I imagine you could add an egg to this, form it into balls, and fry it. However, that doesn’t really fix the fact that it doesn’t taste good. Maybe if this was mixed in with a bunch of other stuff so that the flavor was spread out it could be OK. Who knows.
