This is a good fluorescent tube and it fit in my desk lamp perfectly. It is either a good match for natural white light or my eyes adapt to it without trouble. I can see and read my flat screen LCD monitor much better than before. There is no noise that I can detect, and no flicker. I did have a tense few minutes when I first installed it, as the lamp didn't want to light, but after only a couple of minutes it "kicked over" and lit up. can't say whether this was the tube waking up or my lamp realizing it had to get back to work (so to speak. I gently squeezed the plugs to make sure everything was making good contact. It is so much better than the tube I replaced, I am glad I bought this replacement. It appears every bit as good as the original, so I definitely got value for my money here.
