Rocket League: Collector's Edition - Xbox One

Bought this game and it is a fun game. Is now a free download so don't buy it. Pretty steep learning curve so if you play against others online you will be vastly outkilled. If you can find people of a similar skill level is a really fun game though.

My kids and I played this on the PS4 in Best Buy and fell in love with it. For those that can't figure it out, it's a multiplayer soccer-style game with cars. Yes, it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it's a total blast. We ordered it for the Xbox One, and the first thing I noticed was that the game comes with all the DLC you had to order on the PS4, and it's all part of the game. The visuals are decent, the game is very fast, the controls are tight, the sound is great, and the multiplayer setup is both easy and deep. My kids (8 and 5) like to play split-screen local. The Xbox One allows you to play up to 4 people on the same system, and matches can be up to 4 vs 4, so you can have all four on the same team or split them up as you like. There's also a robust online league, with quick matchmaking and access to an interesting lobby where you can watch highlights from other matches. And yes, every game seems to have at least highlight-worthy play. It's not a racing game. There are no guns. There is no real damage when you crash into each other (yes, you can blow a car up by hitting it hard enough, but it's really not violent at all and the blown-up car reappears on the pitch right away). It's all about speed, teamwork, skills, and making use of the entire arena. That includes driving up the walls, jumping off those walls, and spinning around to "kick" the ball back into play. I've yet to have anything but an amazing time playing the game, whether alone against "bots", with my kids, or online with other folks. I can't recommend this enough. You may dislike soccer and be bored by driving games, but you will love playing Rocket League.

Waited a month for the collectors edition - they should have given me the Batmobile and the Deloreon. Other than that, the most addictive game out there right now. Good clean Mario-like fun with awesome online capability. Looks like they are working hard on any issues that arise quickly. Upgrades are a bit random and no real challenges on online play. Would like to see a more sophisticated ranking system and challenge map. Also, no info on what the differences in cars do. Should have some kind of information guide like: speed, durability, damage impact amount, etc.and the upgrades should upgrade your car. Still love it for what it is. Will enjoy this family of games to come.

The game is cool but a bit too busy at times. The game is literally the cars acting as people in a game. The cars push the balls into baskets - basketball, soccer etc. Its fun but busy for your eyes while the game is in play mode.

I'm hoping Amazon or 505 Games will respond to this message. The game is lots of fun, but as the "Collector's Edition," I believed it would come with a card containing a code to give me the art and cars. Every other new game has done so. It's a fun game, but I could have gotten the game cheaper without the DLC that I paid for with this product.

I absolutely LOVE this game, even though I can't stand soccer. I've logged over 40 hours on the Xbox version, and even purchased a separate copy through Steam so I can play with friends on PC (another 60 hours). It is addictive, fun, allows for unlimited creativity with car bodies, paint, and many other zany customizations. A few dings - there are a lot of unlocks that are behind a pay wall - I am not a fan of this at all. You have to purchase keys which then unlock a box that gives you random loot. I would consider paying for specific items, but I am not going to throw away real money "hoping" to get something I would like. The game modes are simply fantastic and the game just oozes polish. They have released several new maps since I have purchased it, and send out the updates for free. There are several car options available (paid DLC), but that is purely cosmetic. There are also hockey and basketball modes which are a riot. Competitive gameplay is definitely a challenge, and super hard to master. There are definitely frustrations with the learning curve, especially for younger kids, around flying and laser-accurate car control. The more you fine tune your car handling and camera angles, the more fun you will have. I can't recommend this game enough!

I like it and it is a good game but the game is working and it is awesome.

Sure it is the only sport/car hybrid game i know of, but it is absolutely freaking amazing! It is like having two amazing things come together to make an even more epic item. Like donuts and bacon, or chocolate and bacon, or Obama and healthcare, or Hall and Oats, or Chris Hardwick and television, or sex, drug and rock and roll! The gathering of great ideas like this makes the product greater than its respective parts. Racing games...cool. Sports games...nice. Together...OMG!!!! I hope they do this with other genres. Imagine if they combined MMOs with puzzle games, or fighting games with educational games. Ok those might suck, but this game is a match made in heaven! Bravo guys...bravo! Oh yeah, the box it comes in is nice too.

Fantastic! My boyfriend refused to play it before, but since I bought it him for Christmas, he hasn't put it down. He loves it! There's no other game like it out there! Very unique and competitive.
