This item is from a German company but made in China. Having said that the build quality is very high and the item works very well. An excellent instruction booklet is provided which is split into sections of many language’s. The unit is well sealed against water ingress and easy to fit on a flat surface.The unit has two separate pir sensors the longer range one is adjustable up and down but not side to side, the other close up sensor is mounted under the long range sensor. Because the long range sensor does not move side to side it’s horizontal adjustment appears fixed, but can be adjusted. To achieve this individual elements of the pir lens can be covered with white sticky tape, which stops them working.The adjustment of the operating area is by a walk test in daylight, set the lux control to Sun and the time control to 10s. With the unit powered up walk the area covered by the sensor to see where it operates and adjust as required. When you are happy reset the lux to how dark you want it to operate at and the time control to the time you want it to operate for. Job done.

Ordered this unit as neatly styled and one of few advertised as IP66 waterproof - we'll have to see. Seal at cable entry points good, you are not intended to fit your own grommets, so don't try unless you have already spoilt the soft rubber seal.Easy to install in spite of limited space in connection box, remove the no tools needed connector from its mounting pegs and it's simple. Their remains space for your own earth connection if needed. I recommend removing the cut-outs from the outer cover as soon as you know which you will be using, things get tangled if you try to do this once all connected. If using outdoors, do pay attention to the 'up' indication (for me it would have looked better upside down) but the adjustment is then facing up, into the rain. Yes, its supposed to be waterproof, but why risk it!Works well in full sun as well is in the dark.As all too often, instructions are baffling in all major languages, almost certainly unnecessary unless you wish to connect more than one sensor to the same light.

This item looks far more robust and well made than others that I have purchased. Easy enough to install, plenty of room for the wires. Because I have gone through a few of these I have wired this one back to an external junction box so replacing it will be quicker ( hopefully won't need to replace !!). It's all working and doing its job . My only grumble is that the screws holding the outer case to the back are tiny and very fiddly to screw in when you are up a ladder. The stainless steel they are made from is not magnetic either and they kept falling out before I could get the screw driver to them. I ended up using a couple of my own screws which are magnetic and stuck onto the end of my PZ1 screw driver much better .

I have just installed this and am very impressed by the quality, which is comparable to a much more expensive one I bought previously. Solid german engineering, everything fits well, and waterproofing details seem well thought out and good. Early days so I can't comment on durability, but it was simple to install, and works perfectly. Adjustments are clear and well calibrated, as opposed to others I have used.I was fed up of having to replace sensors every couple of years or so, and went for this for its IP65 rating, which is about as good as you can get in terms of water ingress protection. Very pleased so far.Update 12 months on - has worked perfectly, sensitivity is just right, and reliable. Very impressed, and will be buying again for an installation I'm doing for my daughter.

The product works well now it’s installed but a couple of things need to be taken into account when fitting it. Firstly it needs twin and earth flat cable to properly fit into the electrical connector inside the sensor. My lamp cable would not fit so I had to connect the lamp cable to the electrical cable to allow it to fit. Fortunately there was enough space to allow that. More problematic is the size of screws which connect the backplate to the sensor itself. They are very small and almost impossible to screw into the small holes. Bear in mind I was up a ladder trying to fit screws only a couple of millimetres long into it. I eventually fitted slightly larger screws which allowed me to finish the installation.

This has replaced a neighbours PIR sensor that failed and has a bonus that there are 2 IR sensors so that the dead area directly below the sensor has been removed. The wiring / terminal box is ok for standard single lamp connection but to connect a secondary remote lamp made connection very tight in this instance. The range is very good and easily 15mtr to the end of the neighbour's drive (surprised me when it picked me up opening the gates whereas the original never did.Has worked well since installed and neighbour very happy

Relatively easy to install and set up. Good range on the sensor, in fact almost too good and no way to reduce the sensitivity only the light/dark sensing. Have experimented with pointing it further down towards the ground which has helped but can only go so far as it is positioned above a porch roof.Wired it up in parallel with another one (in white) to have a 2 way switching - one for the drive & one under the porch for the front door. Works well with two LED loads on them.So far, so good!
