Why is the 2yr Advanced Edition subscription bundle less than the 1yr?

The one you are seeing with 2 yr Advanced Edition (02-SSC-6844) and the 3 yr version (02-SSC-6845) are upgrade SKUs. They are not new install SKUs. The value pricing is to encourage people to upgrade either... 1) A qualifying Competitive Brand Firewall (not a router) they have or 2) An older SonicWall TZ model registered in the SAME MySonicWall account the TZ270 upgrade unit will be registered in. NOTE: If upgrading a competitive brand firewall you will need the brand name, serial number, and model number of the firewall to endter during the registration process. How do you receive your license key?

Do you need to pay for the subscription every year?

So, the SKU (a new install SKU) you are considering in this questions is bundled with 1 yr Advanced Edition (Essentials + NSM (Network Security Manager) Essential with Management & 7-day reporting vs just the Essentials edition in your previous inquiry. That means in 1 year you have the option to renew your services with either 1, 3 or 5 yr renewal options to keep them running for the length of the new contract purchased once applied to your TZ270. NOTE: IF upgrading from another SonicWall in the same MySonicWall account the TZ270 will be registering in OR from a qualifying Competitive Brand FIREWALL (not just a router), there are upgrade SKUs that provide you 2-3yrs bundled services.
