Great little unit
This little unit is great. It was plug and play, as they mention, so no manual installation of any additional software, which will be useful for non-IT literate customers. The build quality seems exceptional. Nice and sturdy and a smallish size that means you don't need acres of space for it. The buttons feel quality and have a nice click to them and the volume button really looks and feels like it's come off high end audio equipment, with its milled steel effect style design. This volume knob will keep turning and not hit a stopping point, like so many volume knobs do. Having said that, if you get to 0 volume, continue to turn the knob through 360 degrees, multiple times, but then rotate it back the other way, it quickly starts to increase the volume (so you don't have to rotate back multiple times), which i think is rather clever! I have my work laptop and personal PC connected into a USB switch, so i can use one keyboard and mouse for either system, but when using my work laptop and playing music from my PC (via iTunes) i got fed up of switching the keyboard back to the PC just to be able to use the media buttons to skip a track, adjust the volume or mute, then switching the keyboard back to my laptop to continue working. I do have iTunes remote on my phone but this device is there and ready at all times, and my phone isn't always, so i find it a really useful purchase. In terms of control options, there's the already mentioned rotary volume button (pressing down on the volume button will mute/unmute). There's a button for previous track, a button for play/pause and a button for next track. Finally, there's a button that changes the increments that the volume button will increase the volume by. There's one button that controls this and it will change the volume by 2, 4 or 10 increments, each press, and an LED light indicates which is the current setting. All in all, a simple idea but built well, works well and looks good. If i had a little quibble, about £25 might have been a better price point, rather than £32 but what do I know about manufacturing costs and shipping? Not enough to justify my price comment but i was surprised when i saw £32. Let's not detract from the review that this product is a really good addition to my workstation. It's sat about 6 inches from my left hand and it

It's simply brilliant; although expensive
Running: PC, Windows 7. Programs: Window Media Player, VLC, various M-media platforms. Works on all. Basic functionality: Top button [near the lights] controls volume incrementation. In other words, when you adjust the volume knob, by how much the volume will inc↑ or dec↓. 3 settings for this button, and you hit it and it switches between the 3 levels, with the light at top telling you whether the increments are small, medium or large. Volume knob self-explanatory, with clockwise being higher volume [+] and lower volume being anti-clockwise [-]. The knob is continual motion, meaning there is no "end" as you might get on a regular volume knob. So it can just keep turning. Press down on the volume knob like a button, and the system mutes. Bottom 3 buttons self-explanatory. < is previous item on tracklist, > is next item, and ▶ is Play/Pause. All very simple. Characteristics: Item is metallic and robust. Very solid feel; rather heavy, so it won't slip. Good construction and definitely isn't flimsy. Completely plug and play; I'm using an old PC so it took longer to 'register', but you shouldn't have any problems. Recommendation: So I'm a cheapskate, and the main issue would be the price. It's expensive at it's level of functionality. And yet even I don't give a ----. The fact is, it's a brilliant toy. If you're like me, and you adjust the volume a lot, and go through your tracklist quite a bit whilst it's playing, it's absolutely brilliant. Just a lovely feeling design, very simple to integrate into your workflow, intuitive to use, quick to adjust the controls [it's been only a day and I don't even have to look at the thing to use it's controls]. You don't feel it would be easy to break, and the connecting USB wire is a reasonable length as well [not always a given!]. So despite being a cheapskate, I'm totally happy with this purchase. And I normally wait at least 6 months before making a review, whereas I'm making this the day after. So yes, well impressed.

Never knew something like this existed until I went looking for a solution
I bought a solid, mechanical keyboard knowing that it didn't come with media controls, which I first thought wouldn't worry me. After a while I began to miss having the option to control volume using my keyboard so went searching for a solution. I found this, and although it cost more than I wanted to pay, it seemed the best option available. I have it plugged into a dock which I use to switch keyboard, mouse and monitors between two computers, and it controls the volume for both computers very well. The only downside is that it doesn't always remember the fine/coarse control setting, which controls the volume increment, and I sometimes have to unplug and plug it in again to change the setting, hence docking 1 star. The big knob makes it easy to change the volume, and a good press on the top of the volume button mutes when needed. Works well with videos, music and Teams meetings. I haven't played around with the track selection buttons much as I don't tend to listen to a lot of music on the PC, but they appear to do what they are designed for. Overall, pleased with this, but I do think it is a bit expensive although it is solidly built so should last a long time.

Really premium looks and feel
This volume dial is one of those things you didn't know you need till you try it. Being able to so easily change the volume of anything really make you realise how much time you spend adjusting the volume for all sorts of things on different apps, be it on Youtube, Spotify and VLC to name a few. This particular dial is remarkably high quality. It looks superb and is clearly made out of premium materials. The volume knob has a robust feel to it, with nice tactility on each notch a is it rotates. The cable provided is decently long and the back of it is made out of a good quality non-slip rubber. On my pic I've attached it to my table leg using double sided tape. The only, and I mean only thing, that could be improved is that you can't program it adjust the volume by 1% or 1 unit; it's lowest is 2% increments. For most that's probably fine, but for me I listen to high quality music on a pretty decent set of speakers so I like to make sure the volume for different songs are just right, I'm just picky like that. You can however download a software that forces it to change the volume in 1% increments though. All in all this is a fantastic device and superbly made. Highly recommended.

It's not the size of the knob that matters, but how you use it
I recently purchased a new keyboard that was missing the multimedia keys. This is one of those situations where I figured "I don't use these keys often so it's not going to be a big deal". I was wrong. I missed the convenience of being able to pause/resume and skip tracks on Spotify by just hitting a key, instead of having to bring up the app and click the buttons. There are not many options available for those who want to add multimedia keys to a system when the keyboard lacks them. I stumbled across this product and figured I'd give it a try. There's not a great deal to say about this product really. I run Manjaro (Arch) Linux as my main OS, and plugging this controller into my PC, it just worked immediately from the outset with no configuration necessary. I also run Windows as a backup for games etc and it works beautifully there too. Every button/feature worked out of the box without needing to change anything - what more could you ask for? The unit itself is very well built and feels incredibly sturdy. It's metallic and has a weighted base to prevent it from slipping on your desk, and I can confirm it pretty much stays where you put it. When you pick it up you can feel the weight, so this could easily double as an effective blunt instrument weapon if needs be :) The unit came in a small box with a USB cable, which is everything you need. If you're missing multimedia keys on your keyboard, or just want a small device that can play/pause, skip tracks and control volume, this is the device for you. It's not cheap but it feels like it'll last forever.

Great
Excellent piece of kit, works out the box no loading or anything, amazed at how easy it is to use and the added value of not having to change the volume via my pc or keyboard...

Could be a Definate 5 stars if.............
Very nice gadget to give quick control to volume level jumps. The three stepping modes are great for fine to big adjustments , however the darn thing drops out and dies if there is a voltage fluctuation and it needs unplugging from the usb port and re-plugging. There is a big improvement if you use the PC's ports only instead of using external usb hubs. For the price it could easily have had parallel capacitors to smooth it out and avoid this niggling quirk. I'll see how it goes during the return period . I have recently fitted a ferrite choke to the power input cable and it is now behaving itself and very few dropouts. If they do occur then simply pull the lead into the conteol unit out and baxk in to reset it.
