Awesome read and I love it

I didn't think much of this when I saw an advertizement. Cause when you have the WWE Encyclopedia what else can you read. However I got this book and I have to say it is much more enjoyable to read. It has just so many great pics, quotes, stories, historical info, and everything in-between. The book covers all kinds of great things, stars from the 70s, 80s, 90s, the Attitude Era, History or Raw, Smackdown, ECW, Wrestlemania and so much more. This book is legit a closer look at WWE and I recommend it over all the others.

I bought this for a gift for my husband. He is a life time wrestling fan. We both were impressed with the content and quality of the book. Well worth the price.

Has everything you can ask for; Would recommend they add a section at the beginning of their next 'history' book regarding the evolution of professional wrestling as a whole in the United States. Nevertheless, i highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know anything about this company (and generally speaking, this business).

The perfect book to acompany the DVD. If you are a WWE fan and you want to know more about its history then this is a must have. It chronicles the last 50 years of the WWE perfectly. Nothing more to add, buy this with these other books: WWE 30 years of Wrestlemania WWE Encyclopedia 2nd Edition And you have the perfect library of history on the WWE.

Warum ich dieses Buch unter all den WWE Büchern, Biographien, den Enzyklopädien etc. für etwas Besonderes halte? Nun, da wäre zunächst die Aufmachung. Dem festlichen Anlass entsprechend kommt das Prachtstück im schwarzen Outfit mit edlen goldenen Prägebuchstaben im Schutzumschlag daher. Mit 224 Seiten und den Maßen 23,5 cm x 28,5 cm ist es etwas leichter und kleiner als die "WWE Encyclopedia". Aber beim Inhalt entpuppt sich die wahre Größe dieses Buchs. Zwar recht kurz, aber dafür umso ehrlicher, wird hier die komplette Geschichte der WWE abgehandelt. Neben den erklärenden Texten und vielen tollen Fotos kommen auf sehr oft Zeitzeugen zu Wort. Die McMahons natürlich, aber auch viele andere. Und hier werden oft schonungslos ehrliche Kommentare abgegeben. So lässt Gene Okerlund kein gutes Haar am ersten Wrestlemania Auftritt von Mr. T (dessen Laudatio bei der aktuellen Hall of Fame Ausgabe ausgerechnet Okerlund hielt). Entgegen der gleichnahmigen DVD/Blu-ray werden hier wirklich alle Themen angerissen. Es gibt die XFL, den Steroid Prozess, die WBF...ja selbst die Chris Benoit Tragödie wird auf einer halben Seite thematisiert. Sicher hätte dieses Buch mit 500 Seiten jedem Thema mehr Platz eingeräumt. Auch wird ausführlich nur die Wrestlemania Geschichte aufgerollt. Statistiker sind mit der "WWE Encyclopedia" sicher besser aufgehoben. Wer aber, wie ich, die WWE seit vielen Jahren liebt, erlebt hier einen aufregende Reise durch die Geschichte . Die Triumphe und die Niederlagen. Und das Gefühl Teil von etwas Grossem zu sein. Ein Phänomen, das Mitte der 80er Jahre erst ganz langsam über den großen Teich nach Deutschland kam. Heute immer noch von vielen belächelt und missverstanden. Aber für mich, der ich mich immer noch mit kindlicher Freude in den Geschichten und Kämpfen von Helden und Bösewichtern verlieren kann...lauthals bei den Live Events meine Favoriten zum Sieg anfeuere...und seit Wrestlemania 2 der WWE die Treue halte. Tja, für so jemanden ist dieses Buch voller toller Erinnerungen und neuer Sichtweisen auf die wunderbare Geschichte dieses einmaligen Titanen der Unterhaltungsindustrie. Prodotto dalle notevoli dimensioni, sia del volume, che dei contenuti trattati, adatto sia ai fan piu "di vecchia data" che ai novizi che si affacciano alla disciplina. Viene addirittura trattato l'argomento Benoit, e chi ne sa, è consapevole dell'insabbiatura fatta al suo indirizzo.. Completo, anche se un po propagandistico in alcuni punti, molto bello, farà contenti tutti, e al prezzo a cui è venduto, anche un ottima idea regalo, consegna superveloce, quasi a sorpresa, ottimo!
