I bought this for a 24" deep server rack, to hold a Sony VGP-XL1B 200-disc changer, which weighs about 38 pounds empty and has a huge footprint, at 17" wide, 21" deep, and over 7" tall. This was the most affordable option with a high enough weight capacity to be certain the changer will be secure and stable when full of 200 discs. It was easy enough to install, although the side posts of my rack got in the way, and it took a little finangling. We ended up installing the front brackets in the rack and the rear brackets on the shelf. Sliding the shelf into the front brackets allowed us to ensure everything lined up for screwdriver access through the square holes on the side posts. This shelf is a bit deeper than the rack, but this works out pretty well, since it leaves space in front of the changer for placing CD and DVD cases while loading. I'm happy with my purchase. I wish it were a bit cheaper, but I also understand that a solid shelf like this uses more raw materials and costs more to ship, so I think the price is probably fair enough.

Very heavy duty, went together really easy. Happy with the purchase wish it was a little cheaper price. Gets the job done

measure your rack depth! i bought it because it has an adjustable depth but at its shortest setting it was too deep for my rack. my rack has side mounting features so i made it work. a solid shelf, sturdy but dont make my rookie mistake of missing its depth specs.

The 175-pound version of this shelf arrived well packaged in double boxes. The shelf is very sturdy and has flexible mounting options. I was able to install the shelf myself; however, having two people would make the install faster and easier. Detailed specifications for this rack can be found on StarTech’s website.

This is a must have item for any server rack. It takes time to install and adjust to the correct length. Once it's installed it is very sturdy.

I own 4 and let me tell you these are sturdy. My servers have 15+ hard drives each and these hold them fine.

Very solid shelf used at the bottom of my 4 post media rack. Adjustable length very useful to ensure the shelf woudl fit my application. Construction is very high quality and confident that it will have no issues holding the rated weight. Mine is currently holding a ~80lb 3 channel amp.

Just like another review mentioned, it is a pain to install on an existing rack. Fortunately for me I did not give up and after an hour, I managed to get it installed. What made it harder was that this was for the lowest part of my rack. I only bought it since my rack is also by StarTech, but I'm not sure, like another reviewer mentioned, it's worth $100. The build quality is there, which will definitely be hard to find if you were to go with a cheaper alternative. I'm considering purchasing another for the upper portion of my rack, but it also is slightly too deep. Just a few inches. Not a huge problem given that I can still close my closet door.

This shelf is built to last! No flimsy materials here whatsoever - everything is made of very heavy duty steel and is very durable. Unfortunately, the given dimensions for this particular shelf are confusion, and perhaps misleading - for example; The description describes the shelf as: adjustable, from 19.5 to 38in However, and while the shelf can technically be installed at a 19" depth (with brackets), the shelf itself, is not actually 19 inches, but rather, it is 27 inches deep - and cannot be adjusted - meaning, it will stick-out of the rack by 8 inches And so, in this way, the product description proves to be confusion, and perhaps even misleading for buyers, and in cases where a server rack is not adjustable.

Can be adjusted to fit your rack. With 2 screws in each corner I think I could easily stand on it.

funktioniert sehr gut und trägt was und wie es soll und muss. klasse ist die Flexibilität damit kann man es auf die Befestigung im Schrank sehr gut anpassen. etwas Handwerkliches Geschick vorausgesetzt.

伸縮式棚板 を購入しました 19インチラックのケージナットと固定用のネジもついていて 良い製品だと思いますが ネジがM６なのでご注意 (自分は前に使っていた機器のケージナットと交換しなきゃいけなかった) 前左・前右(この2つは奥行きの短い金具) 後左・後右の4つの金具と 棚板で構成されていて各金具を棚板にねじ止めする ネジは、プラス頭のボルトとナットでねじ止めでほかの人も書いてますが ねじ止めがしづらいですが 自分の環境の場合、奥行きが長いラックでしたので 前の金具2つをしっかり締めてから 後ろの方は金具が長いので そちらを後にするとネジ締めし易かったです。 製品自体重いですが、棚板の強度はその分文句なしです
