Creative Motion Metallic Motion Lamp, 16-Inch, Blue

I love this lamp! Ive never seen one like it and am extremely pleased to add it to my collection. This lamp gives a visual of molten metal swirling around with eruptions of bubbles stretching away to cool off. Equally pleasing is that this lava lamp has been the least expensive in my collection, has performed well during all temp. changes, whereas most of my lava lamps are pretty temperamental and not adaptable to temp changes. Running about 12-15 hours daily, consistent performance for over 30+ days now. Highly recommend this conversation piece.

I've been an owner of an original Lava Lite lamp for 15 years or better and recently purchased two more and they both got returned. I gave it one last shot with this one and I can say that this is a quality lava lamp for it's price. The glass has very few bubbles the liquid is crystal clear and the overall design is nice. The only problem is that sometimes wax can get stuck on the inside of the bottle and make it look dirty. Otherwise this was the best lamp you could get for the money.

I ordered this lamp and was disappointed that the lamp was extremely cloudy. I read from others where running that the water will eventually clear up after regular use but I didn't find this to be the case. I received another lamp from Amazon and the water is crystal clear. If you're having an issue with the lamp being cloudy it must be due to a quality control issue. After receiving the new lamp I am extremely happy with my purchase. I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5 due to having to get an additional lamp. From reading other reviews it appears I wasn't the only one that had this problem. Update 8/17/15 - The lava is getting stuck to the inside of the glass and is stuck. I turned off the lava lamp and tried to toll the glass around to get the lava to off the glass but it is stuck. I could probably drain the liquid and clean it but that doesn't seem like an acceptable solution as this should not have happened. After two bad lamps I'm afraid I'll have to return it as there seems to be quality control issues with this lamp.

You never know if a 6-year old boy will like anything you buy for his birthday, so this was a perfect low-risk endeavor. He loves night lights in his room, and this became his favorite right away (mine too). The metallic wax looks way cooler than the ones I remember as a kid (blood red). The bulb did not last a month, however, which is why I am back on this page to search for replacement bulbs -- and leaving a rare comment from me.

I may return it. The idea is very very cool. It does look like liquid metal, but like others, the 'water' was cloudy. It cleared up but has gone cloudy again. We followed the directions to a T...I wonder if it is the delivery in cold weather? We dropped to below zero temps during delivery and it was on the porch. Maybe had something to do with it. I may exchange for a different model. I'll give it a few more days.

As others have stated our lamp did not start blue, it looked more silver. my wife and I like the action and felt that it would be acceptable for our purposes. I noticed some faint text on the side of the box stating that using the light through a few cycles the material would turn blue. It was interesting to see the transition take place. After a few days the moving drops were blue. Now after several weeks of constant use We have had another transition from blue to pink to a very pleasing red.

The lava lamp worked perfectly for 2 weeks and looked beautiful. The bulb blew out which is not a big deal but Ive replaced it again with everything from 10w 15w, 25w and the lava no longer bubbles to the top and down again. Ive tried to google the problem for help and Ive also bought the branded lava lamp bulbs but nothing helps. The lamp turns on but the lava just sits at the bottom. My other son has a different brand lava lamp which works perfectly.

I always wanted one of these and my favourite colour is blue so i decided to go with this one as the blue and silver combination is nice. I plugged it in before i went to sleep. The light itself is not to bright, which is good for me because i am using it as a night light. I guess the wax took about an hour or a little more to heat up because i woke up about 2 hours after and the wax went from being a hard looking piece of blue rock to a soft jelly like liquid. It was amazing for me to see finally. I looked at it for about five minutes until i forced myself to go back to sleep. It plugs into an outlet, and the cord also has an on/off switch which is great. The size of it is also not very small, which is good to. The only thing i don't like about it is, the water itself looks a bit cloudy and not clear. I don't know if that's how it is or if it will clear up in time.
