How much or little, does the "acoustic" feature of this tile stop sound echoing ?

Hello and thanks for the interest! We've done several rounds of acoustical testing and acquired the data to help answer that VERY difficult question! The tricky thing with acoustics is it's hard to determine if a single product will have a strong enough rating to make a noticeable difference (in a given space). Since a room is generally comprised of 6 surfaces (4 walls/ceiling/floor), changing one of those surfaces (like the ceiling) will nudge the way a room sounds one way or the other. Will it make a big enough difference for you to be able to hear it with your own ears? It depends on what the previous surface was and the existing materials on the walls and floor. All that said, our tiles are made of an ULTRA THIN .013" vinyl and have the following acoustic ratings based on the lab testing we've done. These can be helpful when comparing with what you currently have, or other ceiling solutions. Noise reduction - NRC 0.25 Sound Transmission - STC 10 Ceiling Attenuation - CAC 14 We also offer an insulation product that can be placed on the back of our tiles called Soniguard (available directly through our website, if you do an internet search for Ceilume). With the Soniguard insulation placed on the back of the Polyline tile, the sound ratings are as follows - Noise reduction - NRC 0.50 Sound Transmission - STC 11 Ceiling Attenuation - CAC 20 If you'd like to go more in depth on room acoustics and don't want sift through a whole bunch of internet articles, we would recommend talking to an acoustical contractor. Is the back of the tile flat?

No. The tile is made from a thin, rigid vinyl that is only .013” thick. On the back side of the tile there is a lip around the perimeter of the tile and the vertical ribs of the design project upward from the face of the tile. Both the lip and the projection of the design give the tile a nominal thickness of approximately 1/2”, but the back of the tile is not flat.

Can i install led recessed lights to the tile? will it support the weight?

You can install recessed lighting with this tile, as long as you choose fixtures that come with grid-suspension brackets so that the weight of the light is supported by your T-bar and not by your tile.
