Rogue: Untouched: A Marvel Heroines Novel : Kwitney, Alisa: desertcart.ae: Books Review: ROGUE UNTOUCHED by Alisa Kwitney takes the reader on a new X-men adventure with a Rogue as you've never seen her. We are in her head and with her feelings from the first sentence. Her humor and courage go side by side with her insecurities and a habit of leaping before she looks that make her seem like someone you'd want to hang out with over coffee and grits. She is plunged into the fantastic world of mutants, and her powers are formidable, yet she has no idea how to control them. Some of the characters were familiar and some were new, but they all had depth and complexity. Always feeling like an outsider, before she even knew she was a mutant, when she does realize more about what she is and meets other mutants in training, she quickly becomes fond her band of others. Her romance with Gambit is touching, a roller coaster of emotion that anyone can relate to who has ever crushed on a special someone with a leather jacket and too much charm to be safe. There is girl power in abundance, including a heroes and villains and those somewhere in between. Rogue has barely learned she's a mutant when she's challenged to step up and fight to keep her freedom, and save herself and her new friends from a fate worse than death. This book offers a compulsive pager turner for everyone, longtime fans and those new to the Marvel universe. Review: I very much enjoyed this book. I have always liked rogue and Gambit, he is in the top 3 for my favorite marvel characters. Before I started reading this book i kept in mind that there is a infinite number of universes and anything can happen. This was a side of rogue I rather liked, most of the storys I have ready she already knows her powers, it was nice to see her finding out all the little secrets of her powers and see how powerful she really is as her friends help her through the tough time of adjusting.

Excellent retelling and introduction to Rogue and Gambit from the X-Men. Highly recommended.

I love rogue so I’m biased. But this novel perfectly captures her (and Remy’s and Mystique’s) character. If you’ve ever read fanfiction it reads like a fun little alternate universe origin story (but modern). The writer is damn good too, so that certainly helps. I hope they continue this line of novel character studies.
