PSP AC Adaptor
My adaptor came way early which was awesome! My PSP had been dead for over two months and I had no way to charge it. The reviews about this product are mixed, but from my own experience this is the real deal. It came in the right packaging with the Sony logo and PSP logo's on it. Its 5 volts and on the front of the box it says it's compatible with PSP 1000/2000/3000 series. I have a slim so it clicked right in and worked like a charm! The cords it comes with are really long too, so you can defiantly play while charging. This product is 100% authentic and works great! I am very pleased with my purchase :)

Made by Sony, Can't Go Wrong
Don't listen to the reviews that claim this item is a fake. Most likely they ended up reviewing the wrong listing. There are some AC Adapters listed as "Sony PSP AC Adapter by Generic" but that fact that this one says "by Sony Computer Entertainment" means this is the real deal. I ordered it a couple days ago and received it already and it is the exact same packaging you would see in a retail store and the item itself says Sony all over the place. It is solidly built and works exactly as it should. The key when looking at listings for items like this is to pay attention to how it is listed. If it says Sony at the beginning of the title that doesn't necessarily mean it is made by Sony. What you have to look at is the "by _____" at the end of the listing. As long as it says "by Sony," or whatever manufacturer you know makes the original of the item you are looking for, you'll be safe. Amazon doesn't try to trick people, you just have to know what you're doing.

A little worried from the image.
I'm a frugal person. I tend to buy something when I find it to be a good value, which made me worry about this product. At 56% off (I bought this for $13.16) I was worried it may not be 'official SONY merchandise'. Especially as the image of the item varied greatly from the adapter / charger that came with my 3000 system. However, when the item arrived I found that this was for the better. An issue of 'you get what you pay for'. The adapter I got 'free' with my system was very bare bones. Just what you needed to get the job done. The wiring that gave out on my initial adapter was thin and it tore in the cord casing quickly and without any heavy wear or abuse. The MSRP $30 cord, however, is nice and thick. Seems well insulated. Sturdy. If you're worried this doesn't look like the adapter you got with your system, don't. It's better. The $30 MSRP on it is a bit steep, but this item seems so far to be of higher quality and worth the price tag. If you prefer to buy SONY branded items for your SONY products, not only is this the only way to go but it's also a reasonable purchase. Especially if you can get it for half off.

Works great and lasts a long time.
I've went through a couple PSP chargers and I finally decided I better pay a bit more for a good one. This charger has been working for me for 2 years and and as well as for my friend who also bought one. It gets a ton of use and wear, I've got 400+ hours on it and I take it to school and basically everywhere I go so it's not just sitting in a drawer most it's life. The packaging is good quality and hard to open so that tells me it has good value. Recommended to anyone.

OEM charger for PSP
Great quality charger. However the description and image show a boxed unit of a PSP 3001 charger kit. The one received was bagged as bulk and was for a PSP 1001 system. That being said, the charger was in absolutely brand new condition and works perfectly with all model PSP units. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the misrepresentation of the packaging but I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a replacement with an OEM charger instead of a generic one.

Replaces the original PSP AC adapter
As far as I can tell, this is the official Sony AC adapter for the PSP. It works as well as the original and, after a couple of weeks of use, it didn't die. Same can't be said about the original AC adapter which stopped working after six months and had to be replaced. Specs/details: - Compatible with PSP 1000/2000/3000 - Contents: AC adaptor, 5 ft. chord - Input: AC 100 - 240V, 0.3A, 50/60Hz - Output: DC 5V, 2000mA - 1 yr. limited warranty - Made in the Philippines I will grant this AC adapter 3 stars meaning "It's Okay" because, even though it works, its predecessor was short-lived and - see story below - Sony seems unable to get as many new ones as needed to replace failed ones under their warranty obligations. Does this mean that lots of AC adapters die prematurely or is it just Sony unable to provide for a normal amount of warranty replacements? I don't know but my one-month wait and the fact the the original only lasted six months make me suspicious. ______________________________________ Warranty support story: So, what do you do when your original PSP AC Adapter dies? You call Sony's warranty service if your PSP is still under warranty or you look for a replacement at Amazon. Ours was under warranty so we called Sony. They will want your PSP's serial number, model number (can't they deduce that from the serial number????) and some proof of purchase - they were okay with me printing the Amazon invoice for proof. At that point, they will tell you that you have to send your PSP in for repair and they will offer to send you a prepaid box for UPS to pick it up. IF you know for a fact that it's the AC adapter (I did because we have other PSPs in the house and could test) tell them so and the Sony person may understand that all you need fixing is the AC adapter, not the PSP. You will have to ship it to them - for some reason, they want you to pay if you ship the adapter only and they will cover shipping back to you. If they find the AC adapter to be defective - they did, in our case - they will replace it with a new one, if or when they get one in stock. I wasn't THAT lucky. They didn't have AC adapters in stock so they told me to wait. One month later, they still didn't have AC adapters in stock but they had a waiting list so the nice Sony person suggested that I buy one from Amazon and they would send me a free game instead. I agreed and, two days later I had my new AC adapter from Amazon. Shortly after that, I got my 'free' or consolation Little Big Planet for the PSP from Sony. Not totally bad but... still, this after more than one month waiting.
