Game Boy Color - Berry (Pink)

I like the gameboy color because its a nice size, and this one had the battery cover in the same color as the body, which is nice because I hear the battery cover falls off of some, but you can get replacements. the only thing I didn't realize when I purchased is that the screen is not backlit, so you need a good light source when you are playing, i.e. the screen doesn't light up so you can't play in the dark. the screen on this one was in pretty good condition, it had some minor shallow scratches, but doesn't hinder playing at all and they could probably be buffed out with some toothpaste or something, but they don't bother me so I have just left them.

I was surprised when my son asked me for a Game Boy. This was a toy of my youth and given the fact he has all the modern video game consoles, a GB seemed like we were stepping way back in history! The GB was exactly as described. It had only slight scratches and still had the original screen protector intact! It worked right out of the box and we've had no problems at all with it or any of the cartridges we have used. My son has had a lot of fun playing with this and it's been nice to see him transition away from the computer, iphone and game consoles to play this. Great investment and has provided many hours of laughter/joy within our home.

It plays very well and came even soon than the estimated delivery date. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed with were the scratches on the screen. The description said it was like new but on opening it you can definitely notice small scratches throughout the screen. Other than this I am very satisfied with my new gameboy.

For a device that has been around for as long as it has it, the condition exceeded my expectations. Minor wear and tear, screen and speaker function well. Excellent product

My game looks very clean with minor bumps. The only think bothering me is the clear battery case, and a permanent marker name on the back of it. I would have preferred one with out a name on it because I paid $75 dollars for it.

I was reading that a lot of people are going back to the more traditional handheld systems, ie early Gameboy models, and I remembered how much I loved my own. I haven't been able to put it down since it arrived! I got mine used, which is definitely the way to go. Yes, most of the used Gameboys have minor wear and tear, but to pay for a brand new one.. well you're just wasting your money. Some of the reviews about the Berry color said they thought it would be more red - I'm actually surprised it's not more pink! I thought it would be closer to the item's image color on this listing, but when mine arrived, it was actually a shade or two darker. So if you want a bold red color, I'm afraid this will be close but no cigar. On the other hand, if you're like me, and enjoy pink, then go for it! For those who've never owned a Gameboy Color before, it doesn't have the best screen resolution, or that large of a color palette. It was made in 1998, so a lot of consoles nowadays have more resolution and a much more varied color scheme. It is a little gem of the past and shouldn't be berated for "outdated" things that we take for granted. The system runs on two AA batteries that seem to last forever. Volume goes up to a reasonable level, and there is a headphone jack on the bottom for those who like to use earbuds and such. Overall, I absolutely love this product. I would recommend buying a few games, definitely Pokemon, and for the classic gamer, Tetris and Super Mario. Nothing can replace a classic treasure like this, especially at a low price like some of the used ones.

The first thing you need to know is that the physical color of this console does not matter unless you have a preference. All that matters is the condition of whatever console you are considering to order. Make sure you check the product description and probably in addition contact the seller to inquire as to whether you are getting a console that is in the claimed condition. Now, about the Nintendo Gameboy Color, it is not backlit so you have to have light when playing. Also many of the games have internal batteries that need to be replaced every few years in order for the game to save your progress (such as on Pokémon or a similar game). Also to replace the batteries of these games you need a very unique screwdriver but there's about 200 different offers for them on amazon alone. I'm not saying this purchase is not worthwhile, I personally think the Nintendo Gameboy Color is amazing despite my fondness for more modern devices such as my 3ds. Because it is not backlit, it will take some getting used to if you are used to playing a more modern Nintendo system, but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. The colors are not as prominent as in any old ads you would find, but there are basic tones. It is very flat and two-dimensional to me, but I had been playing a 3ds for a few months before purchasing mine so it may just be that I've grown accustomed to a three-dimensional screen. The batteries, depending on the brand of course, do not get used up very fast on account that the console is not backlit, and the console requires only two AA's.

It says like new but it’s in pretty bad shape, The volume sounds really low too. It’s that normal ? Also came dirty with dust. Plus the bottom directional button is not working!? Honestly I was expecting a better product. If we could replace it i will appreciate it or just a refund. I wouldn’t recommend it. The bad thing is that I gave this as a gift for my son birthday
