It tastes good. Not sure about its effect.

My son loves the taste. And he takes the vitamins 2 weeks before his flu shot and usually he is weak after the shot but with the help of sambucol he was still active.

The quality is excellent and the bottle is easy to use. It’s a product I feel comfortable giving to my family, especially during cold and flu season. I would definitely purchase it again and recommend it to other parents

I had heard a lot about sambucol/elderberry and decided to get a few versions (adult/child, liquid/chewable, etc). Most of these arrived end of Feb/Early March 2020 (e.g. just as the covid-19/coronavirus hysteria was really ramping up here in CT). One week (the first week in isolation in fact), (my wife and) I came down with a very odd illness where I was achy/sore/tired, was lightheaded (first day or 2), had regular and sinus headaches/pressure (but my sinuses weren't blocked or stuffy, which is the odd part), then eventually shortness of breath (again rather odd, it wasn't horrible but I'd get winded going up the stairs, very unusual symptom), and lost my sense of taste/smell for 4-5 days (another very unusual symptom). I forgot to use the adult Sambucol I'd bought (you're supposed to use it at the first sign of symptoms), but that following weekend one of our daughters (a 7 year old who had been isolated with us for over 2 weeks, so whatever she got is what I and my wife had the week prior) came down with a sudden high (103F) fever one morning after complaining she was tired. I thought - good time to try out the Sambucol - fortunately it must taste good because she's generally VERY picky when it comes to medicine, but she drank this right up. Then we put her to bed with nothing else (no ibuprofen/acetaminophen). Within a couple hours the fever had broken and she was her normal self. Within another couple hours of being awake, the fever partially returned (not as high), but by now it was time for another round of Sambucol (every 4 hrs). Gave her that, the fever went away (for good), and that was it. She never got any of the other symptoms that her mother or I had gotten. Again, pretty odd as usually fevers are followed by congestion or some other symptom [we have 4 kids so we're practically pediatricians with all the colds/fevers/flus we've gotten], and they typically last on the order of days, not hours. Unfortunately all we can go on is anecdotes like this, but I'll say I will be using this in the future if any of us is getting sick. The real bonus is I didn't have to fight her to take it. The downside is it's somewhat expensive, and the dosing instructions are pretty obtrusive - administering (and remembering to do it) every 4 hours is a bit of a pain. At the rate they suggest taking it, you'd blow through a bottle in the matter of 2-3 days.
