I have been taking better care of my scalp and hair since my last baby three years ago. I noticed my hormones made my head itchy and highly uncomfortable. I would scratch but it wouldn’t stop. I would check for lice and nothing was found. I tried so many shampoos from anti fungal to head and shoulders. The head and shoulders works most of the time but after awhile, it doesn’t do its job. That’s when I use this product. A clarifying, residue stripping, gentle cleanse that starts my head back at fresh again. It’s such a game changer for me. It smells amazing, works like a charm at removing months of build up and keeps my scalp from the dreaded itch. I only wish I knew about this sooner. The way I use it is once every month or two. I can tell when my hair starts becoming more oily, heavy and not its lightweight puffy mane. Whenever it begins to feel unreasonably itchy, I use this for my hair washing (sometimes twice in a shower!) and follow with my regular H&S conditioner. Then, I don’t have to wash my hair for at least 7-10 days. Which is a true testament to how well this formula works. It doesn’t dry my hair out at all. It is the most gentle formula I’ve ever tried and again, the citrus smell is my favorite. I firmly believe this has high value for money as one bottle lasts me half a year. I haven’t yet had any issues with the bottle leaking but I’m not exactly traveling with it either. If I must travel, I’ll either shower with it the day before or use a small travel bottle. So I cannot speak in the bottle leakage bit. Overall, I will be coming back for more. As for you, I honestly don’t know. But I had a great experience and it would be worth trying if you had any of the issues I did.

One of the biggest complaints of my own self is how naturally oily (some use the word "greasy") my hair gets. I'm the type of person who absolutely has to wash my hair every. single. day. If I miss just one day, my hair looks literally wet as if I dunked it in a sink of hair gel, or just took a swim- it is "that" bad. In my younger years (I am currently middle-age) there were some days I had to shampoo my hair twice in the same day to maintain a clean look and feel. I learnt later in life that changing my hair products would make a tremendous improvement in fixing this. Back in 2015 I accidentally discovered Neutrogena's clear Anti-Residue Shampoo (which is no longer available) and fell in love. Immediately, mere hours after using the shampoo, I noticed how "light" and airy my hair felt against my neck, shoulders, and face!! My hair stayed fresh ALL DAY! I have never had to double shampoo in a single day since. That specific shampoo has since been discontinued, but it doesn't matter because Neutrogena came out with this better one, this one I'm reviewing here. I have been using this Neutrogena Exfoliating Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine Shampoo for many years now, and I will never go back to any other shampoo again. Period. If you are somebody- male or female- who struggles with the appearance and feel. of "greasy", extra oily hair you are going to want this Neutrogena Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine. Please trust me. I had high hopes for this Neutrogena Exfoliating Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine shampoo, and while it does seem to work in terms of cleaning and exfoliating my scalp, the smell is just way too much for me. It has this super strong grapefruit scent that hits you the second you open the bottle, and honestly, it’s so overpowering that I feel a little sick every time I use it.I really wanted to love this because I like the idea of a good scalp exfoliator, but I just can’t get past the fragrance. It lingers too long, and it’s just not for me. Moving forward, I think I’ll stick with Nioxin—it does the job without the heavy, overwhelming smell.If you’re someone who enjoys strong citrus scents, maybe you’d feel differently, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance like I am, I’d recommend skipping this one.

I have been plagued with greasy hir for all my life. Day one my hair looks great after I wash it. By day two it looks like I plastered it with Vaseline. Over the years I have tried different methods to deal with it, but mostly just resigned myself to a quick daily shower. Over the years I various experts have recommended assorted ways of dealing with the problem of greasy hair, from restricting hair washing to once a week, to using a shampoo that adds moisture, aka oil, to you hair.Finally, the experts are saying what I have suspected all along, use a shampoo that dries out your hair by removing more of the oil on your scalp. This shampoo works great, and I now get tow or theee days between shampoos without having to despot to wearing a ball cap!

If you have greasy hair, then it’s for you, but just know that it dries out your hair, so a good hair conditioner is a must.

Smells wonderful! Ease of use, doesn’t take much even though the thickness of the product. It helps dramatically on my greasiness. I use about 1 time a month or when needed. Great value for your money. Effectiveness.
