Fits perfectly and works
Decided to try to fix my very very old Kenmore 80 top loading washer that has taken a beating over 25 plus years. I had nothing to loose except for the cost of this part. Three options I had .. it was going to work; spend significant money to have a repair tech to come in ( not wise considering how old the washer was) or even worse buy a new machine that probably would last less then 5 yrs. Watched several YouTube videos on how to change out the lid switch, looked easy enough. Taking the machine cover off was easy, and tilting it down to the floor not hard. Taking off the old part and putting the new one was less then a couple of minutes. (The part does not come with hardware so save the ones you take off to use) The hardest part of the whole process was lining up the cover on the bottom tracks and getting all the sides together , if I had a helper it would of been a lot easier getting the machine back together. But was able to get it done. Bottom line, the lid switch fit, and the machine works. Hope to get at least 10 more years out of it.

Perfect fit and solution
This was a perfect fit for an older washer. The washer would not go into the spin cycle because it did not think the lid was closed. Initially, we made it work by putting something on the lid. After a few days, this did not work either. I thought of bypassing the switch but decided that was too much risk. Installation took some effort but I found a guide on Youtube on the installation of this part. Easy fix in the long run and the washer will be in service for many more years, hopefully.

Required modification to fit MY Kenmore series 80 "Heavy Duty" model 11092380200
Wanted this to work since when I asked the AI on the Q&A if my model would work it said "yes this model is compatible with this switch" (technically it could be, BUT only with a different mating connector..so as is, no it is not) The details of the problem for me on this replacement part was my Kenmore series 80 "Heavy Duty" model (11092380200) had a different connection (barrel vs- blade, and completely different size.) See photo. Based on that I had to cannibalize my old connector from the old lid switch and solder it onto the new switch (again, thanks to the other folks who mentioned running into something similar). I can verify this new switch mechanically fits my Heavy duty Kenmore Series 80 just fine, and with the correct mating connector, is working flawlessly once again allowing the water to drain and the spin cycle to correctly resume. As a final thought, this is a great quality switch and it looks better made than the stock part I had for 25 years. Just keep in mind if your control board mating switch connector doesn't look like the left one in my picture, You may need to modify your part like I had to. So KEEP your old switch handy until you can compare parts, and if needed do a 10min 3-wire solder job to substitute this drop-in replacement lid switch. Right now this new part is working really well and I'm completely happy with it not costing me the 4x that an OEM part costs. If it will fit your washer, this part is worth buying and the one you want.

Got the job done..
Kept my 27 year old Kenmore washer going. Annual maintenance has been less than $2 per year. Easy to install once you get access to the underside of the washing machine top.

Great replacement for Kenmore 90 Series washer
This was a perfect replacement for my Kenmore 90 series washer. Although, I noticed the person who owned the washer in the past, jumpered the switch. I replaced it anyways but it fits well and the plastic part was cut exactly how the old one was.
