It works. I am 6 ft 1in, and there is still room to raise the chair. No wobble. However, still early days. Only two months use so far.

I would like to preface this by saying I am fairly strong. Like I have picked up a full size bar fridge by myself and lifted it onto a counter. I do not normally have trouble with things like this but when other reviews say the hardest part of replacing this part is getting the old canister out, believe them! So my chair had been randomly sinking for a few months, forcing me to stop and readjust it or type with my shoulders hunched up to my ears. Eventually it just would not stay in place and since I really like my chair and it wasn’t cheap, I decided to try and fix it. Read the reviews, compared prices, and settled on this one. The new cylinder arrived quickly and I watched a video on how to replace it. Very simple process. Great! I will be sitting like a proper human in no time. Needed a pipe wrench to get the old cylinder out of the chair, which was stiff but not bad, but when I got to the base it absolutely would. not. come. off. Wailing on it with a mallet, then a hammer, soaking in WD40 overnight, taking the wheels off so the cylinder could touch the floor and standing - then jumping - on the base arms. Nothing worked. The nice new cylinder sat in its box while my chair was in pieces and the smell of WD40 lingered everywhere. After 2 days working from a kitchen chair I finally gave up and ordered a new chair base too. Once it arrived this cylinder was super easy to install and it fit perfectly. It took about a minute to reassemble my chair and the hardest part was getting the wheels into the new base as they kept trying to slide off in any direction but down. That was a few months ago and no issues at all with my chair since then. I don’t randomly start sinking in the middle of video calls anymore. Even with buying the base on top of the cylinder it was still cheaper than a new chair. So overall good purchase but be prepared you may need a sledgehammer to get the old one out. TLDR: product is great, installation is easy. Disassembly of previous part not so much.

MASTERY MART 9 Inches to 13 Inches Gas Lift Cylinder for Most Office Chair, Fitted a Corsair T3 rush gaming chair which the cylinder failed. I believe the Corsair chair has had two replacements cylinders with the last one lasting around 6 months before failing spectacularly. This fitted the gaming chair perfectly and is a good replacement. I'm hoping this last far more than 6 months so will update the review if anything happens. Installing the cylinder was easy enough i couldn't salvage the base plate due to the damage so i also had to replace the tilt plate and base with the wheel. Overall This so far is good and fitted perfectly well, good value comparing to the original which in my opinion fails fairly quickly and the person isn't at all heavy.
