CeraVe Eczema Creamy Oil, 8 oz

This review is for the cream in the tub version, not the lotion. This has a similar thick consistency to the Body Shop’s body butters. It works for mosquito bites and itchy irritated skin due to other reasons. It has a topical analgesic which starts working within minutes and the effect lasts for 6-8 hours. Clean the area first with soap and water, dry it and apply this liberally. Then leave it alone. Don’t touch it, certainly don’t itch it. I always get giant bumps, mostly on my legs and upper arms, due to mosquito bites and they itch for days. Days! Then they don’t heal properly since I can’t keep myself from itching. It’s not a fun experience. Those pesky little things bite through pants and shirts. I use bug repellents but they’re not always 100% effective. Since I also like outdoors, this seems like the perfect solution. Just don’t stop using a repellent in the first place to prevent it from happening. If you still get bitten or if you have eczema, this cream works great.

I think I had folliculitis and bought this to treat my donor area since the other gels were not available in Dubai. Helped me in fixing the issue and also relieved me from itching.

The CeraVe 1% Hydrocortisone Cream is extremely effective and has completely eliminated my constant itching. After just one week of use, my dry, cracking skin significantly subsided and felt much healthier. Continued use has successfully removed the redness as well, proving it to be a reliable solution for eczema-prone areas. Good product that helps stop itching! It's not as oily as some other products I've tried, which means it doesn't turn my bath/shower into an ice skating rink. There's still a bit of slippery to it, but not nearly as bad as I have experienced with others. It's unscented which is an absolute must for me. I've been a user of CeraVe for almost a decade, and this is one of their products that I really like. I've read a lot of the low rated reviews, and I think people just might not understand. This isn't going to be like your favorite body wash from Bath and Body Works. It doesn't lather. It isn't scented, so it has a slight oily-ish scent to it. Honestly- I don't even use it all over my body- it's far too expensive for that. But it is a magic product for what it's meant to do- treat itchy and eczema prone skin. I use it on the places I get rashy breakouts, and I use a more regular (cheaper!) soap on my body as a whole. I really encourage people to use and review this product for what it's meant as- a treatment for rashy skin. If you're looking for a bubbly, sweet smelling body wash, this isn't the product for you. If you're looking for a high-quality, unscented, gentle yet effective treatment for eczema and rash prone skin, this is definitely worth trying. Don't be turned off by the bad reviews.

Bought this because it contains pramoxine hydrochloride, a medically approved compound known to inhibit nerve signal paths which trigger skin itching. Helps to relieve skin itch while providing moisturising functions to the skin. This is one of the few brands in the market offering this lotion, and I bought this on Amazon because it's cheaper and is not available in retail stores. Dermatologist recommended.
