014G1115 Eco Programmable Radiator Thermostat with Bluetooth Function UK Smart Thermostat

After posting a question asking if I could fit this unit to an old valve and not getting a reply I decided to order 1 and see if it fitted. Although the description says it fits all Danfoss Valves I wasn't sure if it fitted a valve that was approximately 35 years old. The first, 3rd &5th pictures show the old valve mechanical head I wanted to replace. When I received the new Bluetooth unit I discovered that one of the supplied adapters enabled me to fit the new head to the existing valve which was easy to do. There should be no need to get a professional to fit it for you, just follow the instructions. The last two pictures shows the new unit fitted to the old valve. Connection via Bluetooth on my mobile phone to the new device using the app was extremely slow. Things improved slightly by pressing the button or rotating the manual temp set ring on the head as suggested by the help section of the app. This problem will occur on some but not all smart phones. Once connected the app was reasonably easy to use to set the temperature, set daily adjustments and set holiday period temperatures. To utilise Alexa to control the valve I think you need a separate device. When fitting the new unit to an existing valve make sure that the operating pin sticking out of the valve moves freely. You should be able to push it right in with your finger and it spring returns to the original position. If it doesn't, use some WD40 and exert pressure to the pin until it moves freely in and out. If this pin does not move the valve will not operate at all. I tested the valve by setting the valve to below room temperature and I could hear the water flowing through the radiator. I then set the unit to above room temperature and eventually the valve closed and the water flowing sound completely stopped. The valve operation is virtually silent. After I fit the other units I have ordered and if I find any difficulty I will amend this review.

Having confidently attached the wrong, similar, adaptor, it was a major faff to remove it before reattaching this item to the valve body. The graphics in the instruction leaflet could have been clearer, although there was a tiny piece of information which I discovered later which might have greatly reduced the faff factor. Once the correct app had been found (not exactly obvious), installed and paired with the valve, it all became very simple to read the current room temperature, set the two temperature target values and set a schedule. The copy-and-paste daily schedule-setting is a dream compared to the multiple button-presses needed on non-'smart' devices. The option to set a holiday period by calendar, so the lower set-point is used throughout that period, is a nice touch. Update: main downside I have found is that there is no alert warning of failing batteries. I now have 3 of these valves, which are named and scheduled separately for different rooms.

Brilliant replacement for old manual Danfoss. Has loads of adaptors in the box for different valves. Bluetooth works well but can be manually set by twisting the old fashion way

Not a bad piece of kit from Danfoss but its limited & due to this, radiators wont ever get "hot enough" to heat up any room.. Pic 1 shows using this controller, takes two AA batteries, i always have duracell rechargeables in the flat, worked well for pairing to the app but its max temperature only goes upto 28°C ! This renders the whole radiator useless - haha Pic 2 shows the actual radiator temperature using the manual-screw controller. this gets to a radiator temp that will heat-up a room. if Danfoss could get this to work with their wifi wall controller, then that would be something to look forward to. But dont waste your money on this crap, its also only bluetooth which is great for security but again useless when you suddenly need to be away from home and cant change the heating while you're outdoors. Really nice try by Danfoss though, there are a few of these out there and the best would be to address the controller on the wall rather than individual radiators. If this is exactly what you want though, works as intended, the scheduling is clumsy but one day maybe the app will get better via updates but its years away from the google nest, but Danfoss doess have a wifi controller for the wall too, Danfoss 088L1143 ECTemp - thats what will fit the bill instead of this gadget, imho..

I have these on all my radiators. The Bluetooth app is a bit clunky, but overall they provide the automation required at a reasonable cost

Used to control lounge temperature which isn’t usually occupied during the day, whereas other rooms are. I would have bought another isn’t compatible with the valve and the adapter is no longer available at a reasonable price. As long as the old head screws on it should be compatible.

Obsolete product now, so helped me out with a client

Simple to commission. Logical and basic app. Adequate range for Bluetooth connection. Okay for controlling around a set point but incapable of fully closing the radiator valve. Noise is the same as the three other major brands I've tried.

Montaż zajmuje dosłownie minutę. Połączenie Bluetooth stabilne, nie zrywa. Można ustawiać harmonogram na każdy dzień i z różnymi temperaturami ( tryby: w domu, poza domem oraz wakacje). Polecam!

Hochwertiges Produkt. Funktioniert genau wie beschrieben. Die Installation dauerte nur fünf Minuten und war problemlos. Verschiedene Adapter für unterschiedliche Systeme sind im Lieferumfang enthalten. Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit, es funktioniert einwandfrei.

J'ai un thermostat d'ambiance mais je voulais pouvoir commander une chambre séparément, J'en ai profité pour remplacer un vieux robinet sur radiateur fonte. Très facile à monter et fonctionne parfaitement
