Great for the price, high quality. Exceeds expectations.
Great value! I watched a lot of videos about this before purchasing it. The reviews are great. I've always a hollow body guitar like this but didn't want to spend a fortune on one. This thing showed up looking great, beautiful guitar, cool head stock. Out of the box, the action was very good less than 2mm so I had to adjust that a tad higher to stop some string buzz but after that it plays great. However, you gotta consider than any high end guitar also needs setup as well. I have higher end guitars that weren't set up this well from the factory. The sound is excellent. Durability will be seen over time I can't comment on that quite yet because I just got it but overall I am impressed. With tax, I have less than $200 in this guitar. It's beautiful, had a proud headstock, and is a welcome addition to my collection. I will likely purchase another Grote in a different style just to see if the quality is the same because I anticipate that the price will continue to climb over time on these.

After a few months what I did to get a great guitar!
I bought this guitar as a trial. I watched reviews on YouTube about inexpensive guitars. Here are my thoughts. The overall general quality of the guitar is quite good. I like the finish and the pickups. I did a number of things to make the guitar into something that I could use on stage. First thing I did was replace the strings and tuning machines, oiled the fretboard, polished the frets and adjusted the intonation. I found after changing the strings and tuners that the nut was not glued into place. The strings that came on the guitar were totally miss matched. the E and B were both .009 and the G was .012. The D,A,E where ok but changing them was the correct move. After all that the guitar played well, but still out of tune on the 1st to 3rd fret. At that point I took it to a luthier and had a good amount of neck work done. The luthier cut a new bone nut, leveled the frets, adjusted the action and set the pickup screws for over all even string volume. So for the price of the guitar plus 400 for the work, put this purchase at the same price point of an Epiphone or Ibanez semi hollow. Conclusion: I still feel I am ahead of the game as some of the same work would have to be done to either of the Epiphone or Ibanez guitars. The upside is that I know the work that was done and the playability is extremely good now. If your planning to invest, find a reputable luthier to get a setup for the quality you want. I feel it was a good investment and playing it on stage.
