Cold Steel Delta Dart Zytel Handle (No Sheath)

Already had a one of these, but purchased a couple more for my friends. These make fantastic gifts. They are very pokey! An easy to use weapon that you hope you will never need, but will feel more confident when you have it. It's the kind of quality item that you expect from Cold Steel.

Note: Do not buy any other "size" than 1. Buy multiples of the size 1 if you want more. It appears Amazon doesn't see the "size" as quantity, and even though I ordered the size 4 expecting to get 4 in the package (price reflects this) I only received one. Save yourself the hassle! If you've never seen a weapon like this, it's essentially a commercially made and enhanced version of a prison shiv. These are not meant to replace a steel knife in terms of defensive ability. These are cheap, light, rust-proof, and most likely strong enough for a single defensive encounter. Buy multiple to keep hidden around the house (never rusting means that they can even be hidden in the elements or in places like your toilet tank) and, say in the case of a home invasion, you have an option to defend yourself with something other than your bare fists. A bit long to carry around though, the only thing I can think of for long-term carry is keeping it in a sheath on the inside of a high boot. So long as something like this fits into your situation (and at 4 bucks a pop it's pretty easy to find somewhere for it), this is an awesome weapon. Tip is sharp, texture around the handle helps with grip. You can buy a toothbrush and shave it down on some concrete for authenticity, but it wouldn't have anything on the Delta dart.

These Darts appealed to me because you can't accidentally cut yourself on them, and they're cheap and nearly indestructible. Make no mistake. Despite being plastic, they are not a "less than lethal" self defense tool. These aren't kubatons. Especially with the hard-to-stitch triangular wounds these could make, they could VERY easily be deadly. They're not toys, and you should keep them away from kids and people uncomfortable with the idea of using deadly force in a self-defense situation. The tips start out quite pointy but dulled slightly after I punctured cardboard boxes a couple hundred times (yet the tips still worked after this, a good sign). I only wish they were a *little* more compact. Maybe 1/2" off the "blade" and and inch off the handle. They stick out awkwardly in some of my pants and thus got relegated to the night stand by my bed instead of taking them out while walking at night.

A PERFECT, stealth carry item. With the metal "keyring" removed, undetectable by metal detectors. You need to fashion some sort of a "Tip Protector" or it will easily punch right through your pocket.

Cold Steel. That is all I have to say. Now don’t get me wrong there are lemons everywhere, there’s no hiding from junk… but thing Delta Dagger is far from junk! It is sturdy, effective and is an ingenious star blade design which cannot be seen in the photos. The tipety tip did break although that was to be expected upon thrusting it into a cardboard box full of magazines. It still has full tabby potential. That being said, I will be ordering more to have around. If you want to keep the tipety tip in tact. Don’t use it. If you want to practice, play and beat em up. Order a 4 or better yet an 8 pack. I plan on doing this because that’s why I bought them. To practice self defense and overall to just play around with and have fun. Safely of course. I regret not buying multiples off the bat but now I know and will be getting a handful more eventually. Satisfied.

Very pleased. As advertised both food qualities and realistic expectations.

Very lightweight. Could puncher deep if used. Only disadvantage is carry options. It is too long to conceal and the point is always exposed. Cold Steel could improve by 3D printing a cap to cover the punching spike that cliped on and off. Then you could attach your key and carry safely and discreetly. I have probably made it seem like a bad product but it is good for it's purpose. Cold Steel are always good products though with a slight improvement they could make this a great product!
