Excellent multimeter with some functions that set it apart from most. The large display is easy to read and displays values up to 19,999 more than enough for anyone. Even the 20A scale has 1mA resolution. The digits are about 20mm tall and have high contrast in lit areas as well as a light blue back light when it is dark. The meter is fully auto ranging with manual override as well as hold function. It is true RMS reading for AC measurements. The Bluetooth link to a smartphone works well with some useful features like the graph and list of values and the voice announcement of the value is really good. If you are working in a difficult place, like up a ladder, trying hold the meter where you can see the display and the probes, the voice announcements would be ideal. If you think the voice announcements is no use the 18E model is £5 cheaper and doesn’t have the this feature. The meter will also function as a datalogger recording up to 10,000 points with download to the smartphone. In addition to the normal probe set, there is a small thermocouple (temperature sensor) included which appears to be somewhere near accurate. In summary a great meter, lots of functions, large clear display, but it is the Bluetooth link and smartphone app with voice announcements that set this model (Owen-18E-01) apart from the others on the market. In my opinion the voice is worth the extra £5.

Measure everything electrical no more shocks

This meter has all the usual measurement facilities like ohms volts amps etc, It has the added ability to log this data internally and transfer via Bluetooth to an android device. I bought this meter specifically to use on my Windows Pc which the advert said it could do. I contacted Owon to see if any Bluetooth dongle worked with the meter and they replied that it had to be their own one, I purchase an Owon dongle, downloaded the supposed PC file from Owon only to find that it did NOT contain the exe file that installs the driver for the dongle. On contacting Owon I have had no reply from them. To sum up, if you want Android connectivity it is fine. If you want PC connectivity forget it. For this as far as I can see you have to use an Android device and app and then transfer your file to a PC.

Use this in the garage great value for the money.

Arrived and would not switch on. Tried a new 9v battery and still no luck. Thought I’d try this meter as it seemed good value for money, however looks like I will be investing in RS pro or Fluke. I’d imagine this multimeter would meet my needs if it hadn’t been let down by corners cut when manufacturing. Buy cheap buy twice.

Data looging and plenty of ranges. Good accuracy. Quite rugged too. What’s not to like? An included carry case would be a nice to have.
