Excellent TP-Link Access Point
This is an excellent access point. I have installed this as part of myTP-Link Omada controlled home network. It gives full Wi-Fi speeds and has 3 gigabit Ethernet ports, one which is POE. I use this to power an IP work phone. It is also capable of handling VLANs. Again I use this to separate my work laptop and phone from my home network. This can also be set up as a standalone access point via a very easy to use phone app. Only issue is that it is not supplied with a POE injector. This can be purchased separately if you do not have a POE switch/hub. (Make sure you get the EAP235-wall if your BB speed is over 100MB/s. The EAP225-wall only has a 100MB/s backhaul link.)

Brilliant unobtrusive access point.
Likes…slimline fitting on standard wall box. Looks good with no wires or power supplies Easy to connect up to ethernet cable - need to have the cable in the wall of course and with a connector rather than bare wires. Transfers full speed from my virgin hub > 200mbps Dislikes = could not connect via web browser “server not found”, but using iphone app method it worked no problem. Instructions could be clearer to point out that you need to change the SSD (network name and associated password) to same as your existing wifi. Notes: remember this needs power from the ethernet connection, so make sure you feed it from a PoE device. I bought a small 5 channel PoE+ switch that i daisy chained with existing switch. ( i need about 15 ethernet port to supply all the bits and bobs in my house!). Perhaps the daisy chaining was reason i could not set up from the browser. Anyway phone app worked just fine. Took about fifteen minutes. Definitely recommend and will buy again for another part of my house.

Good product, range isn't as good as the surface mounted devices.
You are best adding a controller to manage the devices if you have several. The range doesnt go as far as the surface mounted AP's. good for the money though.

It works and is priced well
For what it is and how it's priced, it gets a 5 star review from me. It was very easy to set up, the signal is great for its size, and it has been working fine for a couple of weeks now. There's nothing more I could expect of it.

Finally!
This is really an update to the EAP225-wall that fixes its flaws - i.e. updates the ports to be gigabit and increases the transmission power of the antenna's to match the equivalent normal AP (EAP225). We have had a EAP225-wall for a year in a spot where high bandwidth wasn't needed so the 100mbps limitation wasn't a factor. We ideally wanted one of these in our office, but needed 1gbps ports due to having FTTP so we hoped that TP-link would finally fix the flaw and they did by releasing this 'new' product the EAP235-Wall. Its literally the same externally, internally its more powerful in transmission power and has a better internal switch. These have enough power on their own to cover a very wide area, but due to lack of fast roaming might not make sense for offices, but are perfectly fine for home use where fast roaming really isn't needed. One point is that if you are running these via the controller these require version 4 of the controller - the older models used version 3, so you have to upgrade the controller and then all the AP's. Its worth the effort though as the Version 4 controller is light years ahead of the version 3. Just takes a bit of time and backup all your settings manually before hand.

Convert an RJ45 socket to a wifi accesspoint and switch
I've got a lot of TP-LINK kit and control it with Omada, but, this review focusses on the installation. I had some RJ11 telephone sockets around the house. I was able to take the socket faceplate off the wall and replace the 6 core cable with 8 core CAT6 with an RJ45 on the end - there is a wall plate that fits over the existing backbox then the access point attaches to the top and plugs into the RJ45 terminated cable. Very easy, very neat and powered by POE

Easy Set Up But Requires POE.
Does exactly what it was purchased for, as a wired AP for an area of poor wifi reception in the house. Built in web portal provides plenty of configuration options if you need them but all you need to get going is to set the new network names and passwords. Requires a POE adapter if your network doesn't provide the power.
