These are far superior to the red brand. Far superior. I stitch a variety of materials and use larger thread than I should but these behave perfectly. I’d shred my thread a dozen times a day with the others. These are awesome!

Specialized leather machine needles
Schmetz makes a leather machine needle. My Juki sewing machine will sew leather. My machine Quilter swears by their needles. I got a brochure on the company needles, the German company makes many special needles.

Really liked the needles and they worked well

Go very very slow
Had to run the machine very slowly but these did work to adhere a thin piece of leather patch to a denim jacket. It took multiple passes and some seam ripping because the bobbin kept wanting to clog instead of grab but we got there eventually. Not the prettiest stitch but the job is done and I was able to do it at home on a basic machine.
