At Games Atari Flashback 4 Classic Game Console

This was a Christmas gift for my 36-yr-old son who remembers old Atari from his grade school days. Because he has all the other game consoles and popular zombie and military games, I was hesitant that this might be too simple and silly. He loved it and said it is actually just like playing the games he loved 25 years ago. The investment and the paddles I bought were outrageously LOW PRICED! I have spent more for just one X-Box game. Go quickly and buy this and have some great family fun!

Those wishing to get nostalgic with video games like the old Atari...DON'T buy a Flashback. It's a waste of time and money. The games don't seem as sharp concerning play as the originals. Missile command especially is different. The missiles come out of the silo slower, the new joysticks are not as sensitive as the old ones, so your accuracy is off...not to mention the sticks are wireless, so all games have a lag while you use the infrared wireless feature. It took forever to get the paddles, and they too stink. They are wired directly into the console, but you turn the knob, which is very stiff, and THEN the cursor moves. Like an echo. so good luck playing Circus or Pong. The ball or clown is crashed before your cursor moves. There are no other companies, like Activision, on here either...strictly Atari. There are no instructions for the games aside from a basic rundown either. All in all...I have more fun firing up my old, ORIGINAL system than using the Flashback. And the kicker...I found the same unit for almost half of what I paid AT A DOLLAR STORE. So be careful where you decide to purchase it, if you want to take the chance. So good luck, but this is how I see this cheap console. Not what it's cracked up to be. To ammend the previous review...I finally got the paddle controllers. They suck. Seriously. No better than connecting the original analog paddles from the original Atari. There is a delay when using them. You turn the paddle, and a split second later, the cursor responds. Not good in games like Pong or Breakout or Circus. There is no control over your "guy" in this game. Between the wireless controllers that delay, and this...a HUGE waste of my money. Don't bother. Buy an old TV, get an original system off Ebay, and have a ball. It may cost you a bit, but quality costs, and this isn't quality.

I love having all the old games from when I was a kid. I can finally play video games again and not be totally lost. They are tons of fun and even the kids (who are used to amazing game graphics) love playing. The best is how compact it is. We are excited about that because it will travel easy when we go on vacation this Spring. Love it!

The game console is nice, simple and small and the games play well except the ones that need the paddles to play with and they are still on back order after two months.

My husband wanted to purchase this one for his father for Christmas gift. We received it pretty fast even though holiday season. When his father received this gift, he was so happy. So, my husband and he played the game in two hours. They both had very good time with it.

Its a good re-incarnation, but its not perfect, and some of the games don't play well. It would help alot if this included info on how to play some of the games, or some history of the games included. Overall, a good system, but it feels slightly incomplete.

This is a cheap plastic made piece of junk.. I was really excited upon getting it I plugged it in and tried to get to centipede took me two hours to get there. Finally I figured it out when playing it it was so slow, unreal.. The joysticks dont work right... Then I moved on to bowling because my granddaughter wanted to play pfft she left the room after 5 minutes it was ridiculous. so I called her in and said lets check out the haunted house game, she left on that one to and said no more!! After that first day it hasn't been played since..Not worth it at all. This is the first time I have ever left a negative.

Not all of the games work with the provided controller. Goes out of control not centered on TV. Missing some real classic games like PacMan and Frogger

Wer mal Lust auf ein wenig Retro hat und keinen Emulator zur Hand hat oder mag, der ist mit dem Atari Flashback4 gut bedient. Anders als beim Emulator kommt ein richtiges Retro-feeling auf. Man sitzt vor seinem Fernseher und zockt. Wer die Games aus den 80er nicht kennt, dem sei gesagt, es handelt sich hier um simple Spiele mit sehr einfacher Grafik. Die Lieferung erfolgt innerhalb von 2 Tagen per UPS. Ich persönlich mag UPS nicht so gerne wegen den unfreundlichen Boten. Beim auspacken der Konsole merkte ich dann: "Wo ist mein Poster?". Auf dem Karton steht "Poster inside!". Tja, hat man wohl bei mir vergessen. Dafür wurde ich mit einer unkomplizierten Installation der Konsole ( plug n play am TV ) und tollem Gameplay entschädigt. Die Konsole wirkt gut verarbeitet, es wären keine Kratzer oder Beschädigungen sichtbar. Ich habe ein kleines Video gemacht, dort packe ich die Konsole aus und spiele ein paar Spiele an! My son enjoys the console. Just needed a Scart connector so as to plug in A.V. cable to Scart on T.V. Worked fine. Good old retro- games.

It was fine and works buit it didn't come with the games that I enjoyed with the original game. Also, it worked better plugged in rather than using batteries. One can feel it slow down when using batteries even when the batteries are new! So it's performance isn't as good.

No incluye las pilas. La presentación es buena. De los 75 juegos que trae están bien 2. Los mandos a veces no responden como deberían. Tienes que ser muy friki de los primeros juegos de Atari para que te guste.
